  • Fuel Tank and Hoses

This evening I removed my fuel tank for my LED project. In the process I discovered that the secondary fuel line coming from the front of the tank was disconnected from wherever, and that there was oil on the frame beneath the tank. Refresh my memory, what is the secondary line, and what is with what...

  • Re: Rusty under fuel filler

[quote user="MD-82"] Hey all, ..... Regularly when cleaning my bike I notice moisture on the filler neck of the fuel tank. It became aparent that it wasn't sealing and/or draining the wash water correctly. I even started noticing whiting rust spots on the plate just inside the tank. So...

  • Re: Vent & over flow lines coming out from under gas tank

[quote user="rub2race"] I was just doing this last night.. I ran forward most line under the tank and tie wrapped the check valve by the left motor mount. I ran the line from the check valve so it comes out in the left side AIS cover. The vent line (rear line) I ran to the same place. There...

  • Plastic liner in tank?

  • Re: Tank Venting Question

EDITED: Tim, Yes, the cap has a built in vent. When you open the gas cap on the hinged side is a small ORANGE silicone tubular nipple that forms a flexible bridge between the gas tank and the bottom of the cap. The nipple snaps into the outer aluminum ring of the OEM part to accomplish this function...

  • Re: No tank = Low gas?

I've ridden my bike several times for trouble shooting purposes w/o the tank for a couple of miles and not had the low fuel light come on. If you're determined to test the function of the light take it for a spin w/o the tank [ ] .... just remember that w/o the gas tank connected (both dry breaks...

  • Re: Fuel line routing questions

The dry break under the seat is a vent that terminates at the filler neck The left dry break under the AIS cover gravity feeds to the aux gas tank under the seat The fuel pump is resident in the aux tank as you stated and delivers gas under pressure to the FPR which feeds the injectors. I don't see...
