  • Re: Time to switch cables to SS, some advice needed

Just to mix things up here Here's some reading with additional threads regarding opinions. Brake line specs: http://rswarrior.com/forums/p/109021/902074.aspx#902074 Here's some info on a modified cable end at the clutch perch as well as the superior Barnett cable construction: clutch cable: http...

  • Re: Brake line specs

warrior04 .... the best performing frt brake line is the 3-pc line as there is less fluid displacement during heavy braking. The only down side to the 3 pc line is that it has 2-more connections. The Galfer PN FK003D311-3 will fit your Yami TT's and mounts slightly different than the Russell brake...

  • Re: 2 vs. 3 front brake lines

I have the 3-pc Galfer frt line because i prefer the look and IMO it's cleaner @ the master cylinder (MC). My .02 regarding lines: Technically, in hydraulics, the shorter the lines (smaller volume) the less compressability of fluid and hence a firmer lever/pedal at the MC when operated. Fluid flows...

  • Re: Braided Lines

My .02 on brake lines: IMHO the lines that offer the least amount of fluid compression and firmest lever are produced by Galfer . They offer both a single & dual line assembly. They swage the banjo adpater directly to the hose and are very compact. The single line from the MC uses a tee under...

  • Re: braided brake lines

I have a custom 3 pc SS Galfer front brake line. I removed and reused the rubber bushing and mounting brackets from the OEM hoses so that they are attached to the fender bracket rigidly as built! No chatter problem here [ ] Edited: Couple of photos but not of the fender bracket [ ] http://www.rswarrior...

  • Re: Need brake line info

Seeing that you have the Yami TT's and don't need custom lines i would suggest you go with the Yamaha BRAIDED STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINE or the Russell Cycleflex Cruiser Brake Line Kit mentioned by DarkStar as it will mount exactly like stock to the lower tree and fender supports very neatly...

[quote user="TECK"] ..... Alan, is it Galfer you have now for your front brake lines? What bothers me with Galfer is that they have their name printed on cables like 285 times.... Custom Brake Lines - 3 Days :>) The Galfer black SS frt & rear brake lines that i received from Cycle Brakes...

  • Re: Installing New SS Brake Lines

As stated, take the necessary precautions to protect your investment from any stray brake fluid or spills! With your late model '07' bike I suggest the following: Direct the brake fluid from the right frt caliper into a glass jar using surgical tubing at the bleeder screw. Tie the frt MC brake...

  • Re: Lenght needed for Galfer front brake lines?

[quote user="TECK"]Hi all, Can you tell me what is the exact length of cable lines from the reservoir to the T? I plan to replace the stock lines with Galfer ones, but the Carlini SuperSweeps mess everything, in terms of fitting. Preferably I would like to pass the lines through current throttle...
