When new, a little petroleum jelly or wax on the rear hook and rubber pads will help it latch. Read this: http://rswarrior.com/forums/p/16740/273093.aspx#273093 After you break the seat in you can remove the washers!

2 1/2 yr old seat being reworked Oct '07' at their plant, No Chg! Foam was removed from the thigh area effectively making the seat feel lower

Here's my 1400 mile trip to Corbin last year with JayTee via the Sherman Pass which landed me a very expensive triple digit speeding ticket on Rt1 [] . Corbin did a free seat adjustment to my Stinger after 3-yrs and free meal ticket

mdfdwarrior ... not to Hi-Jack your Topic but the problem also exists w/the Corbin Stinger and it will eventually damage the paint finish of the tank []
Here's what i did to prevent future damage! You could relabel the Topic to include the Stinger []

Finger print of the Neoprene stoppers on tank bracket. Notice in the center the faint shadow from the OEM '04' seat!
Before adding the 2-stoppers the Corbin bumpers were useless [V]

I've logged >15,000 miles the past 2 years with my Stinger and it still looks as good as new []

When i dealt with Corbin back in '05' they offered to send out swatches. The individual i spoke to was well informed regarding mixing & matching and helped me come up with the proper specs so that i could end up buying the seat from our site sponsor at a significant discount []
Here were the specs for my '04':

Stinger Seat # Y-W-4-STNG
1. Smooth Black Leather Seating with “Wildfire” stitching in the seating panel or equivalent.
2. Black Faux-Baby ‘gator Leather Side Panel only.
3. #79 Yamaha Charcoal Tail Flames if possible and practical?
4. Standard Black Vinyl on Tail section.

Added two washers to front bracket and seat now latches with some effort in the seating area.

To unlatch seat i repeat the above but operate key latch!

Great lumbar support and a lot less effort holding on at higher speeds. This seat definitely puts you further back in the saddle away from the bars and appears to be slightly higher. Feet are further ahead also as if i extended the controls. I like it
