• Re: Idiots guide to octane.. what should I use?

The Speedstar ECU does modify the timing. And of course allows a higher redline and rev limit.
Increasing cam profile generally results in more fuel being injected, so the burn-time isn't shortened. While HC pistons may require higher octane to prevent pre-igniton due to compression-related heat, a taller cam profile alone won't benefit from higher octane.
What I am concerned about is if I were to change cam profile
  • Re: I'm going back to school

    That's awesome Sang...good work !

With all your crashes you probably already know a lot of people in the health care proffesion.
LOL, in fact I do know quite a few nurses and physician assistants, but none from my crashes. I walked away from 4 out of 5 of them. Got past my midterms a few weeks ago and am about to go on fall break for a week. Got 100% on my A&P midterm and have several quizzes and test since then.

  • Re: Roadhouse Slip On - Need PCIII?

The Roadhouse is an awesome sounding pipe ...I always got positive comments on it's rumble. As for Terry's comment , don't take it out of context. Sounds like he threw his bike out of tune ! Tuned for one pipe then changes to a totally different set up. And it seems to make good power! [youtube:5XdlZp7hxJ8]

  • Re: Chrome fork covers

The fork covers new come with 2 different size spacers for that reason. Yours would have the little (about 1/2 inch spacer). What you need to do is ask around for someone who isn't using theirs to sell you their larger spacers. See my gallery pics to see what they look like installed.

  • Re: $700 for a drive belt WTF

Actually that should be 130 tooth 1 1/8" wide and 14mm pitch. The gates polychain is very good and I think is the belt Yamaha uses. If you have any shops there that can access S&S parts (often Harley or custom shops will have their catalogues) . They now have a Gates/S&S carbon cord belt that should be even stronger than the Kevlar reinforced Polychain. They run about $170 USD in North America.
