My opinion is that Microsoft was targeted because a windows machine is a windows machine is a windows machine. If you are 12 years old and write code that can infiltrate your moms laptop, it'll run on a windows server, exchange server, everybodies pc, IIS server and every thing between. Since Mac bit the bullet and went with intel processors, you can run PC apps easy enough on a MAC. Windows 7 is really pretty good. I beta tested it for months and months and months and it's vastly better than vista, it's what vista should have been. It's your choice and I've pondered the same choices recently. You could always just upgrade the OS on the PC you have to windows 7

The points on cost are pretty relevant, though you may not care about cost, being able to get a new computer every other year for three years for the price of a MAC is a valid point.
