I just picked up a set of 1 1/2" drag bars off ebay and was looking them over. Just eyeballing them, it looks like the ends of the risers are off. One looks to be at least 1/8" longer than the other, maybe more but definitely not as much as 1/4". I've never changed out bars before (pretty new to modding in general), is this the norm or are the bars messed up? The bars are pretty beefy and I wouldn't think they would flex or have much give but I just don't know. Any opinions

Thanks for the reply Alan. I did a quick check by placing it on a counter so that one riser was flat on the surface. The other riser was definitely shorter by that 1/8" gap that I eyeballed. So if worse comes to worse and I'm stuck with them, I could use a washer to even them up? When I was eyeballing them at first, I also thought they might not both be flush (have different rakes) at the bottoms of the risers, but looking at them against the countertop they look pretty parallel (the gap

The Mod Bug, that is. I thought I got a great deal on my bike when I bought it this past April. Pretty much what I was looking for- BAK, pc III, aftermarket pipes, only thing obvious that I wanted changed were the handlebars. Any money I saved on the original price of the bike has gone up in smoke to the tune of about $1500 in goodies. Still need to change the bars but they are purchased and on the way. Now I'm thinking of getting a fatter rear, just 240 or 260 (as of this moment). How much should
all i had to do was get married
Drastic times call for drastic measures. I'm not in that deep yet although if that's the medication I had to take I'm sure it wouldn't be all bad. C-One, you're not helping. In fact, you're one of the carriers of the bug. Love my Speed* scoop!
shouldnt your hp and torque numbers stay the same?
That's what I think too, only the gearing is changing so in your case your top speed may increase but the bike may be less quick getting to speed. I used to ride bicycles a lot when I was younger and might change my gearing depending on the type of terrain I was riding (flat vs hilly). Never did the gear changes affect the power of the engine (me).

I'd go back to that dealership and ask one of the managers (service or general, whoever would have a clue of what's happened) for a customer service comment card so you can let corporate know how "happy" you were. If they don't have enough interest to find out right then, follow through and let corporate know. You can let them know you're upset but try to keep it objective.
Do you think i could/should call Yamaha directly?
When I bought my bike the owner didn't have a spare so I went to Yamaha to see how much another "Star" key would be. $50, give or take $2 depending on which dealership I asked. Had a local locksmith make me one for under $5. No remote, chip or anything fancy about the key other than a pretty head with the Star logo, but not $45 pretty!

Welcome, I just picked up my '06 this past Apr and love it. It's got Ripsaws on it now but I picked up a set of Big Shots, just have to swap them out. I also rode sportbikes before the Warrior and still have my '05 ZX 10r. I like being able to choose rides depending on my mood. Cal
