Did anyone notice that it was one of our British brothers across the pond who posted this story of U.S. & British vs. French exploits? Thanks! As a U.S. Navy man, I'll say that it's as nice to be appreciated by our allies as it is to be appreciated by our own countrymen.

The Patriot Act was almost instantly abused. Organized crime bosses were targeted in Nevada under the Patriot Act for illegal prostitution (yes, I'm aware that prostitution is legal in Nevada under certain circumstances), drugs, extortion, murder, etc.The FBI classified their crimes as "terrorist acts" and "terror related activies". For sure, their crimes are heinous, but it's a short walk from there to just start classifying all sorts of lesser crimes as "terrorist
The bible isn't meaningless gobbledygook. It just makes many claims we I now know to be completely wrong, and advocates a moral system that isn't compatible with civilized people. It's not nonsense, and I understand it just fine. It's just immoral and inaccurate.
Please restrict your denials to yourself unless you have a mouse in your pocket or something.

If you wish to use "we" in the context of belonging to a group of people who share a common disbelief, then certainly. However, I disagree that all religion being "nonsense" is part of the general body of human understanding and knowledge. Although the number of athiests and agnostics is rising, the number of people converting to Islam is rising far faster, (far faster than the number of people converting to any Christian belief in fact) and the overall number of people in the

Sigh...Must I, Damon? Nice backpeddle dude. Here you go, since you're having instant and selective amnesia:
The bible isn't meaningless gobbledygook. It just makes many claims we now know to be completely wrong, and advocates a moral system that isn't compatible with civilized people.

By "we" I don't mean you and me. I mean that the inaccurate and contradictory nature of the book is well-known among people

Damon, you should understand that accuracy in communication is a vital part of getting your point across and making a persuasive arguement. You make sweeping generalizations, criticize others for quote mining, but then fight back when people do it to you, you are fundamentally incapable of admitting an error while just telling everyone else that their opinions are wrong, or that the facts they present are false. I beat this point into your skull because you are proveably WRONG when you made the statement
So you still accept Adam and Eve and Noahs ark as fact? If you take the global population as a whole, christians are a small minority, meaning the "general body of human understanding" sees it as miss guided nonsense. Your use of statistics to support your superstition, while cherry picking your numbers is laughable. I wont Stoop to questioning your intelligence, I'll leave that one to you.
Whoa, slow down there Meatball. NOWHERE did I say Christians

Wow. There's a lot of ground to cover here. First, I have zero motivation to lie to you, or about you. You used the word "lie" several times. I have not lied, dissembled, or attempted to mislead anyone reading this. Second- I'm not pretending that you meant something else. You meant it. You have changed your view. Your "disclaimer" is honest and accurate and I appreciate that. I don't consciously think you mean to lable people, but you're careless with your words

Hah - and for a minute I thought you were being somewhat clever - but it turns out you just got it from a bumper sticker . After a couple years of RSW religious threads, I should have realized that the resident godbotherers don't know the bible well enough to make something like this up on their own.
