i wouldnt believe that the valves need adjustment for a second, thats a bunch of b.s. i would check your front pulley as alanh suggest and maybe adjust the clutch, i was forever adjusting mine as it was nice and snug when starting out on a ride but as the motor warmed and after a little riding it would get slightly loose, a quick turn of the adjuster and shes happy again, i remember a slight click click when starting out on mine but over 12,000 miles of riding it i never had a problem or any type
