    BIG BORE KIT

I JUST INSTALLED A BIG BORE KIT (PATRICK RACING) ALONG WITH A BAK AND I'M GETTING THIS LOW END "CLUCKING" OUT OF MY THROTTLE BODYS, AT LEIST THATS WHERE I THINK IT'S COMING FROM. ONLY AT LOW LUGGING RPM'S THE MOMENT I ROLL ON THE THROTTLE IT GOES AWAY, ANYONE COMMENT ON THAT.

Did you do the rebuild yourself?
Can you give a little more info about a "clucking"?

    Re: BIG BORE KIT

I'm not sure what all comes with the "Big Bore kit"
But if you installed cams and hi-comp pistons, That low RPM chugg'n is caused by a lack of fuel during idle.
Three things can fix that or any combination of the three.

Increase your engine timing. LOL (yea right)
    Increase your engines idle speed.
Increase the flow of fuel from your injectors.

As long as your connecting rods, bearings and oil passages are ok, then the three above will help you out.

This is not motorcycle engine experience but small and big block v-8 engine experence. It sounds like you have the basic H.O. (High Output) engine blues.

Well hey, take the Warrior engine and multiply it by 4 and you've got 8 cylinders and 408 cui. stock. Add a big bore kit and now it get's a lot bigger.[8D]

did you install a crank vent, sometimes these will make a noise thats may sound like clucking depending on how or where it was routed, this can make a new or unfamiliar sound.

Yep, just ask dt. His mechanic wanted to pull the crank becuase he mistook a krankvent for a spun bearing...

Did you bump up the ECU sounds like not enough fuel. Churchkey lives in your area Id get with him and talk it out he would know. Let us know how it works out Im wanting to do the same kit. How many inches do you have now?

Might be spark knock. Sounds like you are lugging the engine, you can't do that with 10 to one pistons. Unless you want to melt the tops of the pistons.

    Use Mobil premium 93.

Do not let the rpm's fall below 1800 in any gear except first. If you are in 4th or 5th & need to accelerate at any thing over slow throttle application DOWNSHIFT.

    + the krank vent thing.

What Road dog said, tell us about the performance. How did you compensate with the fuel injection. Have you considered the speedstar ECU and injectors.

    Re: BIG BORE KIT

Properly mapped a big bore kit doesn't "need" a Speed Star ECU or injectors, just a PC3 or similar. Actually the Speed Star kit STILL would need a PC3 in order to supply the desired fuel properly. Stock Injectors are good up until 125-130hp.

If it is lean at low RPMs that is where the custom map comes in. The PCIII can have different values every 500 rpms.

Damn right Rob! Spedstar kit doesn't need the beefed up injectors either as long as you have a PC3 with a good map.

    Re: BIG BORE KIT

Rob would know! In February I am getting a Big Bore Kit from OE installed along with an OE air kit and some Big Shots. After the custom map is done, I will post the dyno sheet.
