    The perfect Warrior battery

OK, I read and researched and re-read. I looked at posts here, there and everywhere. I measured, read, re-measured, re-read and I do believe I found the perfect battery for the warrior. I had to wait until I got it to see.
This Battery is made by SVR, it's an SVR 14. The battery was designed to start high compression motorcycles. It is also used by drag race car owners as it's light and will easily crank over a V8. Also, it's a favorite of electric car racing. Although the battery is larger than stock, the battery fits right in with no modification to anything and it cranks like a mofo. You can do your own research as it's use is well posted all over the internet. I had it shipped for 75 bucks total.

This is a Sealed Valve Regulated AGM Lead acid battery.Similar in design as the Hawker , but with larger interconnects . This battery was developed as a starting battery for high compression motorcycles .
Will easily start stock V8s with a big reduction in weight. 11.5 pounds

It does look impressive. Where did you find it for 75 shipped? From your research you did, will it be happy with a battery tender, or will another type of charger be necessary?

I found it at evparts.com. I had to do some looking to find this price. I could have gotten it for 57 bucks had I known the place was only 35 miles from here (but I didn't).
Yeah, people are using battery tender on it. My stock battery barely turned the high compression engine this sucker cranks her up real good. I've seen it rated at anywhere from 200 to 250 cca. The thing I liked most is that it fit without any modification. I could have gotten the same cranking amps with a much bigger battery but didn't want to. I did have to play around with the positive battery connector a bit but it fits right into the box and everything fits in on top of it with room for my tools.

Great find, WW. I've had the stocker for 3 years now. Wouldn't mind having one that had more cajones.

Here's the one that I was eyeing up, but they are out of stock right now. $56 and change with free shipping right now on orders over $50.00. This one says 210cca.
If it doesn't come off "out of stock" soon, I'm going to give yours a try WW.

This one here is a little bigger and cheaper. 270 cca...but not sure if it would fit.

Yeah, I was looking for something that was rated in the same league as the Hawkers but without so much girth. I looked at a lot of battery info out there before I started looking for the information of people actually using the batteries I'd narrowed my search down to. There were a bunch of them that seemed to have the power output I was looking for but searching the net, I found nobody that actually used a bunch of them so I scratched them off of my list. When I started looking at the svrs, I saw that people were running cars off of them as a full time battery, saw that drag racers were using them, that electric car racers were using them (you need to be able to draw a lot of amps quickly when racing electric vehicles 'they say') and that they were designed for starting high performance bikes and they recharge themselves quickly. Plus, they are cheaper than the stock battery. I didn't want to say a peep in here until I bought it, installed it and tried it out. With my stock battery, even when new, it cranked slowley and I could always see the instrument lights dim a bit when starting. This sucker cranks quick, bike starts quick and I see zero indication of draw coming from the instrument lights, not even a flicker. I'm sure there are a bunch of batteries out there that will do the job and most of them will do it better than stock. I guess how the critter does in a year from now would be a more telling test. I'll let ya'all know

    This in my battery:
    http://www.batterymart.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=ODY-PC680&Affiliate=robotcombat
Its a 220CCA, and they claim 680 for 5 seconds, whatever the hell that means.

I had to mod the battery box to accept it, but the box mod was easy because its plastic and a dremel tool screams right through it. Bottom divider had to be removed so it would go all the way to the bottom and I had shove some wires around, but all in all, took me about 1 hour (from unboxing the PC680 to drive off).

With the original battery, it always seemed to get tired real quick if it didn't fire on the first few cranks. That led to a few push starts, down hill of course. I live on a hill and it left rubber in the street when I popped the clutch. The warrior would be a bear to start on flat ground with high compression pistons. The PC680 seems to have more legs and I no longer think about it anymore.

    Re: The perfect Warrior battery

I've been running the original battery that came with my bike for about 4 years. Now that a cold snap has come through, I can really tell she is about ready to lay down and die. My instrument cluster has reset on me a couple of times which irritates me. I think I'll have to get the SVR 14 since there are no mods that have to be done. Good find!!
Instructions for riding a Warrior: 1) sit on bike, 2) start bike and idle till warm, 3) pull in clutch and put in gear, 4) release clutch and rip on the throttle, 5) {VERY IMPORTANT!!} HOLD THE F*** ON!!!, 6) Enjoy!! Side effects may include whiplash, wrinkle free skin, and an evil smile resembling the "Joker".

I know this thread is a bit old but I wanted to say thanks for this find! I just ordered one. I need something with more kick for the HC pistons. I hate re-setting my clock every few days.

Mine reset on me this morning. I cranked it while it was pretty cold, and although it started, it reset my digital guages/clock. Time to start shopping.
I'd rather dig up Ronald Reagan's corpse, and plant it firmly in the oval office for the next 8 years, than elect any of the bozos running for president today!
