Contact a GOOD lawyer and explain what happened and bring a copy of the police report. See if they can file a lien on everything that is in his name to prevent him from transferring ownership to a relative. I would think that you would have very little trouble finding a lawyer that wouldn't want 1/3 of this settlement. I would also call his insurance company (should be on file with DMV) and tell them that he was involved in a felony hit and run and that you will be bringing a rather large lawsuit. I'm sure that they will waste little time in finding him and contacting your lawyer.
I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

I want to die while asleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

Good luck, hope everything works out.

I that would be a geat idea also....I called both of our local news stations, they said they will only run it if the police tell them too and they only do if it's high profile like someone got killed. Well then last night they ran a story with a cyclist that got hit about 5 miles from my spot. The guy didn't run but the cyclist is in the hospital with serious injuries....I guess a felony can't replace serious injuries.

I'm pissed and going to let the florida highway patrol have it....problem is, a supervisor wont be in until tomorrow.

Also, the cop told me there was no ins info on file with the dmv. I'm going to call my car ins company and see if they will get involved...they'll locate him to find out if he has ins.

Well, A small victory.....I got the name of the Lt. at the FHP that can authorize a press release to the news stations. He is going to put out the info to the news stations so they will run the plate number and car desc.

That's something, I just pray someone calls him in. My insurance company is next but they are closed today....I'm not sure what they will do since I was on my bicycle but friends say they will help.

Thanks for all your well wishes.

Sorry to hear about the wreck but glad to hear you are relatively OK. I'm more of the heal up and hunt down type but theres not much monetary value in that.

I hope you keep after this, this jerk should not get away with this crime just because the police are too lazy to do anything! You should write down his description, and date it, just in case it takes a while.

    Condrons,
I got a hundred bucks bounty money for the arrest and conviction of this guy. If a lot of us chip in, it could be a pretty good prize. Put an add in the paper, and bulletin boards around town. When you get an informant, I'll have the money in your PayPal that day.

I'm not talking vigilante anything. Just a reward for someone who knows, to drop a dime on this guy.

    AnyBody else??

Thanks guys...I'm thinking about buying a billboard on one of the busy streets here and putting up the details....I found out it's about 1,000.00. That will be a last resort. They finally ran the guys info one ONE of the news stations here tonight. It's a start. I'm not going to give up until this a-hole is in jail.

looks like my car ins company will be covering everything unless they find this guy. even then, because he probably has little/no coverage, they will cover up to 1.2 million in medical, lost wages, out of pocket expenses and even offer me a pain and suffering settlement afer it is all said and done. I'm so glad I recently upped my coverage. There are so many people that are un/underinsured around here, I upped it for this very scenario.

They are MUCH more interested than the police are in finding this guy. I have USAA Ins, they are awesome!

The local talk radio station is going to have me on tomorrow and a reporter for our paper is a big cyclist and is going to do a story on it. Things are moving better now.
