DIY hidden caliper "update 2 "

    Following the detailed kevigonad post
    http://rswarrior.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=51194&SearchTerms=hidden,caliper

I decided to try this myself. I cut the tab off with of all things a hack saw the help of a bench grinder and dremel cleaned things up nicely. I positioned it back on the bike to mark where the tab had to be relocated. A local welder did a great job welding it into the new position and with some more dremel work and sanding I then painted it with Dupont low gloss engine enamel. The finish looks better than the origional. Bad thing is it takes 7 days to cure. Also did a small amount of grinding to the caliper so the banjo bolt would go back on from under the swing arm and the inner swing arm needed a small amount removed also.

+2 [;)] .... I have my time and money invested in 1-windowed chrome bracket and 1-stock chromed bracket in the classified so it's not going to happen in this lifetime for me [:D]

That is a very good looking bracket and this is a very good mod for the warrior.

Please tell me you didn't paint the threaded part were the banjo goes and get paint inside the caliper itself.

I guess it's not that hard to clean up though.

Before I painted the caliper I pressed in 3M rope caulk into the caliper banjo bolt opening making sure paint didnt go inside or on top where the fitting seals. I pulled out the caulk after the paint was dry to touch. I also put caulk inside where the caliper pins go into the bracket and also the axle opening.
