    33 tooth pulley installed

After installing the pulley I went for a ride and found that at 70 mph = 2500 rpm, 75 mph = 2750 and 80 = 3000 rpm. How does that compare to the stock pulley or the 31 tooth pulley? I didn't notice a big differnece in take off. I don't burn rubber, but I like to twist the throttle a bit and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. I got 44 miles to the gallon, which will help extend the miles between fillups on my road trip, but that will change since when I get back I will be installing a VBAK and a PCIII.

hmm, thats what I am getting. I wonder of mine was done before I got the bike? What was your engine running at before the changeover at 80mph?

The relationship between the engine rpm & the indicated speed does not change no matter what drive pulley is installed because the gear change takes place after the speedo pick up in the transmission.

What changes is the actual speed you are traveling at. You can check your actual speed & compare it to indicated speed with a gps or your local police may let you know weather you want them to or not.

gman...i suspect that you are aware of the following ... based on the numbers there should be a 3% difference. Your trip odometers will now read lower numbers when you gas up [:0] as if your mileage went down
    Here's a comparison i did a while ago: Thread:http://www.rswarrior.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=50369
    • 70 / 31 (101T) = 2.258 Ratio = -3.23% more torque & quicker coming off the Line - Higher RPM @ highway speeds

    • 70 / 32 (102T) = 2.188 Ratio = 0.00% Stock - Used as the * Bench Mark *

    • 70 / 33 (103T) = 2.121 Ratio = 3.03% - Higher top end & lower RPM @ highway speeds

I have previously ridden on 2 long distance trips with 357warrior (Road* 5th gear, 31T, 240 tire) & riverat (240 tire) while my bike was still stock rear. Our trip odometers never agreed [:)]

Exactly. I had mine checked by radar by a friend who is a police officer. With stock pulley 2 runs by him with an indicated 60 on the speedo. His radar said 55 one the first trip 56 on the second. I haven't been back since I did the 33 tooth swap.

Someone some time ago said that the speedo comes more in line with reality.
    It's around here somewhere...

Is there a way to correct the speedo once you do a mod like this? I'm considering.

you'll be closer to a corrected speedo with this mod than the factory pulley...I dont know how or why, but Jap bikes are always 5-7 percent fast on the speedos compared to real life, Just get ahold of a GPS and verify...

For about $30 you can add a Bicycle Computer to your Warrior. Being fully programmable it will accurately tell you your actual speed as well as time, trip distance, total miles, max speed and more. I never look at my stock speedo anymore.

What if the magnent flys off at speed? It may land somewhere it might damage something.

I super glue the magnet to the floating spacer on the disk. I've thrown off 2 so far with no ill effects.(Good luck, eh?) The balance is not affected as far as I can tell. The magnet is positioned close to the hub where it's mass has much less effect than it would out on the rim. A smaller "super" magnet would be even better. That's next. This is a SIGMA SPORT 600. It cost $30 at the local bike shop. The accuracy is very good and it has a resolution of 0.1 mph. You measure the actual circumference of the front tire, to the millimeter, and program it into the device. When I drive straight at the roadside radar trailers, the speedo and the radar track exactly. (GO BILLY !!!!!!!!!!!!)
