    another diy v-bak

I got into my ais removal and decided to take a look at the filter since the tank was off and I had to do plugs anyway ,there was just oil everywhere. Oil dripping into the throttle body!
So I took it all out. It took me a lot of footwork and time to gather it all as I wasnt sure exactly what I needed till I got stuck. If I had the 200. I would of gone for the Churchkey out of conveinence. All together it cost me 100. give or take a buck.

I finally got all the stuff together and heres what I came up with.

I didnt like the noise or the thought of having oil blow out on top of the engine so I moved the breather filters.

What a difference in the noise , and now the coffin has a better use.
I put the filter back in, plenty of room behind it for the breather filters and not hard to re-assemble.

Your bends for the TB's look good and tight under there. Nice job Damian.[^] You even had time to install a glass for your beer, is foaming ever an issue? [:p][:D]

Did you oil that second breather? Just asking because it's not red like the other one

You wasted your first post on me?[:D]
First of all welcome to the forum.
The auto parts store only had one of each color, and I didnt care as they would be hidden. Neither was oiled and I dont think they need to be as they are blow offs theyll eventually get oil[;)]
Oh and Independent lemming ....no foam. Thanks Guys

That looks good. It is the first pics of a VBAK that I have seen that has the filters in the right side cover in addition to the filters under the tank. Are they really needed? and what for?

Those are blow offs out of the heads. Open with no filter they make some noise and with or without the filters probably will spit up some oil now and then . So by tucking them in the airbox no noise or oil on the engine or bike. In the top pic I had them on the head and just didnt like the idea. You can see my first attempt at the rear stack just a little more cutting from there. It was pretty akward to put them on at first. Also Im glad I get to keep the coffin, Its one thing that stuck out when I first saw the Warrior, just very distinctive to the bike.

Looks great. I like the way you ran the breather filters down to the coffin. I can't wait to get mine. I'm gonna havta get Churchkey's because it is easier.

How funny is this...after all that I never measured.[:o)]
I can tell you the angle from the TB to the filter was about 155 degrees.I cut long then just mocked them up and made my final cuts on the filter side and one little cut on the rear tb side to angle down more. I knew youd be wondering!

I thought the filter on the LCV was actually an intake whereas the one on the crank vent was not?

Very nice! When I bought my Warrior some dude had installed the filters directly on the injection whitout some stacks, is that bad? What do the stacks do?
