The Cerulean Silver with Flames was a paint color from the factory for 2004. So your ownership paperwork should show the motorcycle's model number as XV1700PCS. If the tail/brake light is LED (not incandescent) and you have self-canceling signals and if your seat is 2-piece (rider seat plus separate passenger seat) then you probably have a full-blooded 2004 USA model machine.
If your bike has two headlight bulbs then it could be all-Euro, or it could be a half-and-half.
The 2004 machines had these recalls: Transmission, TPS, and Pick-Up Coil (CPS). The VIN plate on the bike should be marked to show the recall work completed: http://rswarrior.com/files/folders/reference/entry1016342.aspx

If helpful, there's model year difference info here: http://rswarrior.com/forums/t/16547.aspx
cromerla: I've been reading whole forum for last couple of days about year models and recalls (looks like I have TPS problem). I have 2004 european (?) model. All marks as above but I have automatic turnsignal reset! Colour is Cerulean Silver w/ Flames. So is it possible that it is USA model (older?) modiffied for europe market, or someone forgot to remove turnsignal reset??? (btw. i like it very much). And does it change anything about recalls?
