    AIS removal??

i have a few questions on the AIS removal. first of all, how? what is involved in doing so, are there any detailed how to's somewhere? ichanged the exaust and it seems to backfire more now, will doing this help? do i have to do any other type of mod along with the AIS removal?

this is my first bike with EFI, and am a little nervous about the pipe that i put on it. normally i could just rejet it and every thing would be fine. but with this stock EIF computer, how can i be cirtain that it has made adiquit adjustments? i don't want to be running too lean! will the computer give a code if it is running too lean or hot or if something is wrong as a result of the pipe? can the stock computer's map be altered? if not, do you think that the PC3 will do the job?

how well will the AIS removal help the back firing. it is unbareable. no sire, do not like it! pipe sounds good otherwise!

You need a Baron's AIS Removal kit BA-2551WR. Cost is 14.95. Their order line is 888-278-2819. After installing the kit my bike continued to backfire. I then installed Anit-Reversion baffles in the chambermaids and the backfire went away. It is just trial and error.

    I don't want to sound like a sales pitch, but . . .
If you're going to modify or replace the exhaust with lo back pressure, you really should get a Power Commander. PCIII. The device wires into your existing ECU and will, when properly mapped, maintain a constant air-fuel ratio throught the entire RPM range, virtually eliminating too-lean running and backfires. About $300.

You can get the barons AIS or do it yourself. Also you will need to "re-jet". You can do this with the Power commander or a TFI. I went with the TFI as it was cheaper and easier to adjust. Either one will work great. Email me if you need any details at infanterene@yahoo.com

can the Power commander 3 be adjusted by myself, and is it pretty easy. or should it be done by an expert.

I put on a Power Commander PCIII when I put the chambermaids on. I am using the map for Samson Drag pipes with 1 3/4 baffles as a starting point. Still back fired between 2nd and 3rd. Put the HP Baffeles in and the back fire went away. As soon as the snow hits the ground I will do the BAK mod then have a custom map done. I am an old Harley rider and this bike realy puts my Superglide to shame. That is why I am waiting until winter to do most of the mod's, don't want to loose any riding time.

How do you get the baffles into the Bub pipes. I could not get the stock (No baffle) out, and the inserts were the same diameter as the inside of the pipe

I used a Snap-on seal puller. It has a hook on one end and a 2" striking area on the other end. Came right out with a few blows from a 3lb hammer.
