This is slightly off topic, but I think relevant. I had my rear fender off (was considering a fiberglass tail) and decided to run a bolt through the wall next to the battery to hold the brake res. It sits there real nice with the stock padding for the rear fender to rub against. However, I then decided I wanted to put my rear fender back on for a bit and so I used my hands and bent the front back about 1" to fit over the brake res. I don't have any pics, but it worked slick, you can't see the bend unless you're under the bike. Completely hides/protects the brake res and is safer IMO than the banjo option. Downside is you have to pull the fender to check the level, but how often do we really do that anyway.
