You wanna compare a custom HD to a stock Raider?

The HD looks better here, but if you put the same work into that Raider, it would not only look better, it would stomp the *** out of that '03 Harley from light to light, and on the long haul....

to me both bikes have their own problems and they are in the same area on each bike the rear half of both need attention in my eyes.  the harley has nice flowing rear fender but the flat straight strutts kill the look for me ,and the emptyness just throws it off in balance. the raider has to much pipe and again the fender strutts and fender dont work for me in the flow of lines, and that ducktail on the back of the front fender ,i could cut it off with a pair of tin snips and leave it raw and be happier with the look after the cut . for the rest of the bikes and for the most part they are equal in the looks and lines department , as far as chrome or wheels thats not a line or balance issue its a prefference thing ,some like chrome ,some like black ,and so on.just what i see not that its right or wrong, its just me ,btk572

If I could afford either of them I pick the Harley.

Harley, but its not exactly a fair fight; add a stack of cash to the raider picture and ask again.

Neither the Harley or the Raider do anything for me. The Harley looks like a flashed up sportster with a few $'s thrown at it and the Raider looks like an updated Virago, a complete disaster on yamaha's behalf. But thats just my opinion.Huh?       .......Frec.....U.K...

I'm 50/50.  I prefer the pipes and front fender on the harley.  Getting rid of the mud flap will make the back half of the Raider is much nicer IMO.  Swing arm to the forks is about even.

This particular HD is better looking, I wouldn't kick a stock Raider out of bed, but it might have to wear a bag on it's head.

ITS not about money, it was a simple question about looks,  not power or speed either. i dont think the harley is too custom. looks like pipes and aftermarket wheels, air

Re: Raider or Harley, best looking?

I have to go with the Raider on this comparison simply because of the grey engine casing of the Harley. Ick!

Chrome forks, wide tire kit with fender, front fender, bars, headlight, seat, forward controls. I agree it's a nice looking bike but not even close to stock. Here is a closer comparison.

Re: Raider or Harley, best looking?

Put a big radius 2 into 1 and a decent looking intake on the raider and lose the passanger seat and it is a much better looking bike.  It's not fair to compare a fairly well customized harley (probably $5K+ invested in asthetics) to a Raider with that hideous stock exhaust.  Vance & Hines has got to love the stock exhausts that Yamaha puts on their bikes (sorry water-heater guys), talk about easy sales!  I think it is a decent looking HD, and Raiders do look like softail rip-offs, but I still think the Raider looks better, and i would much rather have the Raider.

Have nothing on your bike that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Just because an accessory fits doesn’t mean it looks right.
