The VRod at launch is no match for a warrior but when doing 80+ mph the Rod is a champ. It's not hard to believe remember that the Rod lacks torque but has some ponies like the sportbikes and they rev hard...

had to be,  there is no way ANY Harley could ever beat a warrior and or a raider.  no way, all Harley's are slow,  we all know that. i. was only kidding with the new guy........Harleys suck man... they are way overpriced POS heavy , slow tanks...........i cant figure out why that company is even still around.  man i wish we were all AsiansWinkHuh?

I look at it this way, In terms of price 2x Warrior = 1x VRod. So IF the vrod was as afforadable as the Warrior then yea it would be worth my time. But for the price of a Vrod I can make a Warrior that will do anything a Vrod can. Plus have you tried digging into the heart of a Vrod?  That thing is built like a tank, you cant get in or out of it without some sort of military training...(its a joke, dont jump down my throat)

To get back to the original post, I have a buddy with the Raider. I have ridden the Raider/ raced him while he was on the Raider. We have both let a different guy ride our bikes and ALL three of us are in agreement that the Warrior with some engine mods would wreck the Raider just due to the fact that it acts like a sail @ +80mph, the big turned tank at the angle its at  takes so much of the potential power and eats it. Currently the Raider takes it but not by much. Plus I like my (little brother Warrior) as my friend with the Raider calls it. He has no idea whats coming next winter...Devil

    2010 v-rod msrp..........14,999

    2010 warrior...........not offered

    2009 warrior msrp.....13,190

just putting pipes on the warrior is going to eat a third of that savings......so what are you going to do to the warrior for $1200 to make it faster than the v-rod?

You can get a brand new warrior for around 9k; thats a lot of mod money.  V-Rod is still an awesome machine but your msrp comparison is pointless unless you can show me where I can get a v-rod for 4k off sticker in which case I will be happy to retract my post.

1200.00 will buy you a nitrous kit and probably make it way faster then the v rod, and still be very dependable every day to ride  and probably the warrior will handle better then t v rod , and as always it will depend on the rider of each bike . btk572

The V-Rod is not comparing apples to apples either. Now V-Rod to V-Max would be closer. But I think the Warrior could take the V-Rod. I have taken them on my 2000 Road Star with 10.25 pistons and 32 tooth pulley with a 42mm Flatslide so I am sure the Warrior could do it.

i will second that statement of comparisons of v-rod to warrior . the bike comparisons must be air cooled ,v  twin motor, and push rod for valve train, no over head cam.and at the end of the drag strip be it street or track there is not a stop its a turn and we will be using it as part of the test, its called cornering test. now who wants to compare and race? btk572

ok but comparison was already made, saying they could mod a warrior a little to beat the v-rod  with the final cost of both bikes about the same.

true, i suppose you can find many different deals on both bikes   ,   new, used, old, new.   i was just looking for a fair starting point on cost...   ie Yamaha says their bike is worth 13,190 and Harley says theirs is worth 14,999
