What kind of vaccine do you take for this bug?

The Mod Bug, that is.  I thought I got a great deal on my bike when I bought it this past April.  Pretty much what I was looking for- BAK, pc III, aftermarket pipes, only thing obvious that I wanted changed were the handlebars.  Any money I saved on the original price of the bike has gone up in smoke to the tune of about $1500 in goodies.  Still need to change the bars but they are purchased and on the way.  Now I'm thinking of getting a fatter rear, just 240 or 260 (as of this moment).  How much should a stock rear wheel cost realistically?  I've got a line on one but don't know if it's a good deal or not.  Also, are all years interchangeable?  My bike is an '06 with the 5 spokes.  I'd like to get an extra to widen and keep the option of switching back to stock.  This bike and forum are awesome and the Mod Bug is one affliction I kinda enjoy.

     ModBug vaccine = second job

I've seen wheels go from 150-300, a diy 240 will be alot cheaper than a 260.

I, too am similiarly afflicted, riding in MN is pretty much done, with in the last 2 weeks i've done the 8k mile maintenance, picked up some new body parts from low and mean. I ended up with the tank off to do the plugs...now theres a Churchkey V-bak enroute with coil relocate plate and ais block...my weekend is planned out. Especially since I spent my fun money on fun things (other than Beer )

There's still custom paint to do yet this winter.

I thought about going with the DIY 240 mod but I did a chrome exchange on my factory wheels for $500 and I went with a 210 and love it. This is the place I went with and the wheels are really nice.

The modbug, also known as the M1D1 virus, currently has no vaccine for it. The CDC, in conjuction with the rswarrior forum is working on one, but an workable vaccine appears to be as elusive as a cure for HIV.

Drastic times call for drastic measures.  I'm not in that deep yet although if that's the medication I had to take I'm sure it wouldn't be all bad.

C-One, you're not helping.  In fact, you're one of the carriers of the bug.  Love my Speed* scoop!

I found the cure.......I sold my bike.  Sad

    THIS IS NOT ADVISED!!!!!

But at the time of the sale I was about to do a custom fender and seat, side mount plate, and paint the headlight bezel.

New Rule- Nothing new goes on the bike...unless its Black!

I love it!  Wish I had more money to spend more often.  I bought my bike brand new in August 2008.  So far I have spent $1,600.00 in mods!!!!!  It all adds up, quick.

The modbug is one thing but what is really bad is the "Remodbug"! That's when you go through 5 sets of pipes and three side covers in less than a year!
