Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

OK!!!Big SmileYes...now we're rolling...i'm absolutely 'IN' with my 2 boys...i'd be mortified if Jools didn't come...we have interest from.. Jarv...Gav...Nick...and Steve and Iain maybe [hopefully] so far....

Not sure what HB is?...do we have enough rooms?...lol...we will need at least 8 or 9 for the uk boys ...oh yes!!.......

My diary now shows me travelling 450 miles friday 23rd - at the moment anyway.... my plan would be to leave london 5am with my 2 boys, and the 'stop over guys' [gav/jarv/nick/Iain?....] pick up Steve and Jools in Kent on the way to Dover for 8am - out of calais 9.30am [worst] - turn left and head for north germany....fuel stops every 100 miles and 'chow' stops.. puts us at Villa Loewenherz at 'tea time'...and bending beer arms with our euro friends...[not too many..guys!!] we have to get up saturday ... breakfast, and clean the bikes!..have photos taken and prepare for the ride out 9.30am!!! [don't forget to add the hour on...like some one didn't ..ick]

the 'ride out' was the best i've ever been in...the best roads just twist and turn..climb and fall..and gerry and his lieutenants lead it superbly...boy we stopped some big traffic....fantastic!!

Could easily be 30 warriors, some 'stars', a harley custom even, and maybe a raider... 'strutting there stuff' on the ride out - saturday night will be boisterous and funny...some will stay up all night... others will be in bed by 1am!!.....don't look for jools near a bed before 5am!!!!.....[still smiling]....sunday most euro guys will be heading home during the morning....

...and this is were ...we Brits need to decide....do we leave also in the morning, and head home or ride out ...chill....relax [get over hangovers?] and stay the extra night to leave monday morning...arriving london way, about 10pm?...which makes it tuesday home for Gav...Jarv....Nick...Iain...that's a long long weekend....??

me i'm easy...but 'we's' need a vote.. some leaving 26th monday?? some leaving 25th sunday maybe???...it's a great ride 'alone' back to home...but a lot more fun in a group for sure...don't doubt the ability of the warrior to get you their and back in style...the bike is so built for this sort of adventure...are you?

any thoughts ...input...would be great...haven't asked about tents yet...we could do that!!...as i said to gav ...how's my sales pitch so far!!??Wink

The euro guys are 'happy' to have 'rs warrior' members...no matter the bike...but it is a 'warrior' meet, so they would prefer a 'Vmax guy' for instance didn't invite 3 or 5 non 'star' bikes...that's the sum of the only problem..any one can have with this weekend for sure....you all know how much jools and I enjoyed the friendship we found!!

So lets start the thinking...if you guys made the trip how would you like the weekend to go assuming you had 'carte blanche' to do it you're way....we need to see how far off a consensus we would be first...it's not a cheap weekend so maybe tents and sunday coming back would be best...some off us want to do 'thunder in the glen' with gav a few weks after..so start saving.them pennies...i intend to hammer next season 'big time'Party!!!

Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

London to Calais = 71 miles

9.30am out of Calais to Lauenforde [just below Hannover] 367 miles - so London to the meeting and return will be about £90 fuel + ferry [£50 max return]

Out of Calais turn sharp left towards Brugge - Gent - Antwerpen - Duisburg - Essen - Dortmund swing up to Pader Born [now ya in some fine riding country]  - Bad Driburg - then down to Beverungen and into Lauenforde....and stop. i reckon about 6.30pm [our time] without having had to push on [average speed 40mph, all in, allowing for stops etc]

Have pm'd Wolfgang, to find out about tents, and to get hotel room prices web site gives almost too much info [in german]...share a room? ....we did this year [great rooms in these inns]...saves money!?...food is included in room prices for this event...so this year it was friday to monday late am, about £150 for me Big Smile

Wolfgang has pm'd to mention that we don't need 'tents' guys...this villa does rooms that sleep 8 to 10 guys!!!..[new one for m!]....just need a sleeping bag!!..ZZZ zzzZZZ zzParty!!!...like a tent but warmer!!...we wont be using it much anyway..lol...must be real cheap even with the food included....so no excuses thenWink

They will start a website Computer for this meeting when gerry gets back this week and put room prices etc.... in english for us...Yes

Gav and me and the boys will be staying to the monday before setting off home...so 4 for monday leaving so far

When we get to booking reservations...we'll open an account here and guys can put into it for minimal amount to secure things..ferry ..rooms, but still pull out if family issues etc arise, without incurring costs...tom 'n gav Big SmileCool... a bit of holiday insurance would cover those costs

    Tom,

The only problem I have with this at the moment is that on Sat 24th July 2010 I'm supposed to be 500 miles from Calais in the opposite direction.

I've already booked to stay at a friends converted barn with the family.

One option would be to send them on ahead, do the Warrior meet then take 2days to travel across country to meet up with them.

    I'll look at the logistics.

Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

Nick!!...Nick.. Time that's ok we'll all come to you first..and then like that 'cowboy advert' we'll say you're needed real urgent like....you'll look all emotional and confused...and they'll say ..dad ya gotta go....lol....Huh?

or Idea...we all doss down with you in the barn before we say farewell and move on to germany.......[kidding...no really]Surprise

500 miles west.. when we're going 360 odd east.. is quite a ride my friend...see how it pans out like you say...but family first.....be sure that you'd be missed for sure!!  [:'(] [:'(] [:'(] ..and that's just me and the boys...

Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

700 euros!!!...sheesh...but worth it...lol......how about the shortcut ...you know the one... via via helsinki ferry to tallin in estonia - 2 euros max [surely!!]....then out south west thru poland and into germany and a hop into Lauenforde - that's only 1230 miles and 26 hrs riding!!! one way!!! - so that's let me see ....4 euros on the ferry return and £246 fuel return - 3 sandwiches and a tent - all for under 300 euros then!!!....lolWink...don't have to thank me...it's a pleasure to get you their!!!

must say.. in my mind finland was just north of germany...100 miles max in my mind....so wrong so wrong...might not see ya then...and that's a shame!!

jools did 6000 miles after visiting the euro guys in july...wonder what they said to upset him that much...[just kidding]Big Smile

Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

One way via Sweden, from my front door to that hotel in Germany... 1746km.

    Via Baltica 2112 km.

Using either way, I would have to stay somewhere over night. But it would be a lot cheaper than using that frikkin' boat.

I'll have to think this over. It would be nice if there would be someone to ride with. Maybe guys in Sweden are going?

Re: 6 th European Warrior Meeting 2010

Zal!...Zal..no..no couldn't accept that much gratitudeWink....it was a pleasureBig Smile....that would be one hell of a ride down...i'd love to do it now..once ya get going....over 2 days thats quite a trip, but hey ya get to sleep on the boats a bit...it would be great to have company for sure...but i'm happy either way ..sometimes just you and bike is the best...each to his own huh.....the stay over the weekend should be next to nothing....take it a step at a time and see how it feels..don't have to decide yet...but you'd definately win the 'hard butt rider' badge from the euro guys for sure - cheers tom

ps timoken is in belgium ...but lost site of the guys your far north...it makes it feel so much easier to hook up with another warrior on the way down...and it's still a very 'magic' moment when that happens Party!!!
