    Re: Baclay9's Front end clean-up

Brandon, I do still have the 2 switches attached to the tach.  The wires on them are long enough to allow me to located them on top of the ECU and held in place by the rubber strap that holds the ECU in place.  Has worked for me with no problems.

Thanks for recognition on the mod but I am certainly not the first to use an aftermarket headlight, maybe the first to use the frame neck area to the extent that I did to hide all the wiring that was originally in the stock headlight bucket.

You should see under my seat. I don't think I could fit a sheet of paper in there.LOL I am going to leave the switches off for now. I can always plug them in if I need them. This is really just temporary, I will eventually be having the tach frenched into the tank when I get all my fenders and bodywork done. I am going to have the buttons put into the tank with the tach.

I am sending you a PM Brian.

Got a little more done today fellers. Thought I would share it with you.

Her is the trees. I am luckier than most, the ignition and tach mount just unbolts from the Morton trees. So I didn't have to cut and sand to get the upper tree smooth. I just hit it with some 1500 grit and polish and it looked great.

Started on a headlight bracket. Got it ruffed in. A few more cuts, some smoothing, and a little polish and it will be done. You can see the sharpie marks on the top where I will be rounding it off.

This is the headlight mounted in what will be its final position.

I also got the hole cut in the back of the neck. Used a 90 deg drill and a 1 7/8 hole saw.

I will update again when I make some more progress. Thanks for looking and the kind words.

Got a small update fellers and some more pics for you. Pretty much got my headlight bracket done. I still have some hand sanding to do and then a good polish and it will be done. Here are a couple of pics of how it turned out.

I am going to try to scrounge up some scrap steel from a trailer shop down the road and see if I can start to fab up with an ignition mount tomorrow as well.

    More to come.
