    Southern Warrior Rally Discussion

There was some talk of trying to drum up some intrest in possibly doing a "Southern Warrior Rally" in Texas next year. The discussion was getting lost in another thread so I though I would start a thread for discussion.

We had talked about possibly doing it down around San Antonio.  I believe the location could still be up for debate though. I think actually finding a place to get together at a campground or lake would be best so we could swim, have camp fires, drink beer, ect. If we end up having it in Texas lets try to keep it in a wet county or near a county line.LOL

Ok guys this is open for discussion. I believe a good time would be Mid to late May. This would give people two or three weeks to recoupe after Warriorfest.

I would love to do it somewhere in Southeast Oklahoma. I feel like that would be a little more centraly located and would allow more people to come. Plus we could ride in the mountains, the Talimena Scenic Drive

    http://www.talimenascenicdrive.com/ , ect...

San Antone would probably be a funner nightlife though. If we do it there lets stay somewhere close to or in town so we can hit the bars on foot or by taxi so nobody's drunk ass is riding around.

Alright, lets get some ideas together and we will try to nail something down.

    around San Antonio.

Southern????   San Antonio, TX is  Southern????  WTF???

Nashville TN is southern.  Atlanta Ga is southern  Birmingham Al is southern.

I didn't think "Southern" went past the Mississippi River.  (Well , except for Arkansas)

Well if you boys from Texas and Oklahoma want to be called "southern", I guess it's alright.  Big Smile

Set the dates early enough before it gets too hot.

Fall would be fine with me as well as long as it would  be next fall. Things aren't going good enough this year for me to be taking myself out of the rotation at work.

Fredricksburg is a popular biker place, and still "Hill Country"...A LOT of scenic riding in that area.

October of this year would be great. Not sure what the weather is like that time of year though. I have not lived in TX that long. Ok so my main point is that a restaurant that is in Arizona is opening up on the riverwalk. it's called "The Yardhouse" If you have never been there, it is worth the drive from every state. They have their own brewery, and their stake is the best I have ever had.

Well whenever we decide to do this, anyone North or east or anywhere from Dallas TX that is going to ride through Dallas or near it, let me know. I will meet up with you guys and caravan down to san antonio or wherever we meet at.

+ 1 on the Fredricksburg idea my wife loves the shoping there and I am in for where ever it ends up. If we are near the Burnet Austin area there is also park road 4 with is suposed to be one of the best roads in TX to ride. May seams like a good time as it is befor it gets too hot out.

I'm from Fredericksburg theres alot of biker friendly hotels and camp grounds ,good food , and riding. A round trip to Leakey (three twisted sisters ) from Fredericksburg is about 225 miles and a very nice ride other places of intrest are... Lucenback , Kerrville,Comfort , Bat tunnel 3 million bats come out at dusk.  I'm in for anywhere around TX or OK.

Only a biker knows why a dog likes to stick its head out a car window.

I was kind of thinking the same thing...I'd say its a Mid/Southwestern Warrior Rally lol...I was thinking Southern Warrior Rally as like Atlanta.....Texas is farther away from me than the Dragon...BUT- San Antonio is a good time...I like that idea.

    Re: Southern Warrior Rally Discussion

Ok sticklersStick out tongue I didn't say Confederate Warrior Rally. I don't know how you get much further south than S. Texas, other than Florida and you guys have enough motorcycle stuff there.I tell you what, once we drum up some intrest we will come up with a new name that doesn't confuse anyone.LOL

Lets narrow it down to these three places that have been mentioned the most because the location thing could get out of hand. Let me know what you think.

    San Antonio

    Fredricksburg

    Austin

My vote is for San Antonio in mid May
