    Question about internet setting

I have had this company computer for awhile now and it does something that drives me crazy. If I exit out of any screen on the internet it closes out every internet screen. So I have to minimize every pop-up I open up. It is driving me crazy and I am wondering if it is just some kind of setting I don't know how to change. I am running Internet explorer if that helps. Any help is appreciated.

What IE are you running?  I would suggest upgrading if you dont have 7 or 8.  Tabbed browsing and it launches windows in seperate sessions.

I would recommend Firefox as it is more stable. It is a free download.

I agree, I love Firefox. It can be finnicky at times but I like the password saving options...it seems more personalized to me. It keeps track of my most visited websites and the minute I open a window they pop up in icons for me to select where I want to go. FYI- it's called "MOZILLA FIREFOX", it's free to download and it's actually safer as far as security than IE.

I actually just downloaded it. Took all of 2 min. It even imported my favorites and everything from IE. Pretty cool. My original problem seems to be solved now as well. Thanks guys. Anything in particular I should know about it.Everything is a little "grainy" looking, not quite as refined I guess. No biggie though.  But is it just me or does this seem way faster than IE? Is that even possible?

    Re: Question about internet setting

Yeah, FireFox's font smoothing is not enabled as default from install.

I would just logon to microsoft update web and make sure your have all the latest updates installed

just click here... http://www.update.microsoft.com and make sure you install All pending updates... servicepack 2  or servicepack 3

I'm assuming you have windows XP installed... I really suggest running Internet Explorer 8 as it's safer with spyware than the others....

I know I'm gona catch a lot of SH** from that statement... but dont be a hater... see what microsoft has to say here http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=4072&tag=nl.e550... LOL... I know microsoft funded test...you dont like it?... Then fund your own!...Stick out tongue
