    Sookie's progress...

Well, it's only been a short while since I brought her home and it's been slow getting the parts.  I am still waiting for my exhaust and will wait to put my fender eliminator on along with the exhaust at the same time.  But anyways, here she is so far...The tank is covered in a genuine carbon fiber shell made from an outfit in Australia  The frame sliders and swingarm spools are delrin wrapped in genuine carbon fiber with anodized red aluminum end caps.  Mirrors are CRG Hindsight Lane Splitters that have a ball detent system which allows the mirrors to fold back when pushed and returns to it's original settings.  Bike has adjustable rear links and is lowered about 1 1/2" rear, forks slid up thru the trees about 1" in front with the sag, rebound, and compression set by a local race shop.  Adjustable kickstand to accommodate the lowered stance.  Radiator guard (yes, the BK has no radiator guard in stock form!) is lightweight aluminum in a honeycomb design for good protection coverage, rigidity and excellent airflow.  Also painted the stock rearset which originally comes in silver...

IMO it looks broken or wrecked the way it is lowered.

    Odd

thanx for the honesty lol...do you mean the way it was lowered or just that fact that it is lowered?

I had it done professionally so as to maintain as much of the geometry as possible.  As for lowering it at all, I needed to do so as a safety issue since I was on my tip toes at stock height...

Lower in the back than the front. I guess I just don't like it lowered. I wouldn't even comment but I really want one of these so plan to follow your build.

    Re: Sookie's progress...

actually, I probably misled you in my original post...I'll go back and fix it...

The rear is actually lowered 1 1/2" overall height from a fixed point.  The front forks are slid up thru the trees about 1" which doesn't necessarily translate to the overall front being lowered 1", it's probably more based upon the rake and trail....

Overall, the shop did the calculations andtried to retain the stock geometry as much as possible.  I would have love to keep the stock height, but that just is not practical for me...I also looked for lower profile seats but none available, just customs which may be on my list over the winter....

BTW, I've written a bunch of reviews and lessons learned/watchouts on the Suzuki B-King forum.  Hopefully it'll help out folks in the future!  As a piece of trivia, did you know you cannot take off the front fender without taking the front wheel off first?!?!

thanx - yeah the exhaust will be something a little different from what you normally see on a BK...That's one reason why it's taking so darn long!!!

Meanwhile, the stock exhaust is growing on me.  The black makes it a little better, but I am enjoying the quiet...They can't tell I'm coming up on them until I have passed....Wink

    Re: Sookie's progress...

Seeing as you've dropped the front end - - you should perhaps check the clearance between the fender and the radiator.

They can get VERY close under hard braking.

    Just a thought!
