I think his choice of BAK is off base. Other than that, pretty cool.

That looks like fun and I cant wate to see what he pulls this time. Although he should have used a 2-1 pipe for better performance.

Yeah, wrong BAK.  The pipes should be good for horsepower which is what he'll need there.  He's not all that worried about low end torque.

That is very cool. Are our speedos off that much? I've had mine over 120 indicated when it was stock just on the highway and he only got 115 at boniville.

The stock speedo is off by approx 5mph.  He only got 115 because of the surface he was running on.  The bike wasn't putting enough down force on the tire so it was slipping on the salt.  On pavement a stock warrior will hit approx 130 - 132 actual.

Though his BAK might be off base for some of you...The Barons BAK actually pulls more air at higher rpms. I have one on my bike and while it's not the greatest for low end torque and horsepower, it makes up for it's loss on higher rpm horsepower...not that theirs much to high rpm's for this bike...I would've went with a 2-1 pipe myself...that's just me..

Ok I got it I read where he talked about the tire slipping and just didn't put the two together DOH! Thanks

"We're trying to prove to Warrior owners that there really is a lot of power to be found in their stock motors with just a few changes," Bishop says."

I'm thinking he should check out the forum and he'd be surprised at what Warrior owners are already aware of and could teach HIM.  How did this warrant someone writing an article on I wonder?  What's next, an article about someone switching to the chrome valve covers and using a different brand of wax?

Yeah, just because he's showing to the flats.  I say lets get the top ten performance configurations on the salt and see which comes out on top.  Now that would be worthy article.

Also how is he going to address the tire slippage?

I'd be surprised if he doesn't already visit.  He might even be an under-the-radar member.

His 'show Warrior owners' comment was just advertising and chest-puffing, no big deal.

I'm very surprised the rear tire was slipping at only 110mph.  Wasn't he at least leaning over the tank?  Is his body sail area enough to create that amount of drag?  There have been plenty of bikes with a huge range of tire widths achieve higher speeds, and the Warrior certainly blows past 110mph in a quick hurry if you want it to.  Maybe it had more to do with his ability to control his right wrist, but either way it surprised me.

    Re: Warrior on the salt

Thats great you can do anything with these bikes. The warrior is the best big twin made ( in my opinion) I ride mine almost every day and drag race 2 or 3 times a month. I am working on a trip to the Texas Mile soon. I want to run the warrior in the 150mph class should be easy with the stag iv and nos

    Re: Warrior on the salt

You must have some cool gearing changes in mind to create higher rear wheel rpm's than stock to get over the stock configuration  ~135mph gear-ratio ceiling, plus maybe get those needed extra engine rpm's without cracking the motor block.   It sounds like you have a plan, and the experience to put it together.  If additionally helpful, do a search for Nigel Patrick on this site you'll get some excellent proven posts discussing the needed go-fast parts.  I hope you'll post your progress for us bro!

[added]    I see you have the 31-tooth pulley, which adds off-the-line grunt but reduces top end maybe a ~couple mph.
