    drain engine oil tank dry?

Hey fella's I'm getting my warrior shipped and a requirement before it's shipped is to have the oil and fuel drained out completely. I ran the fuel out fine but when i drained both plugs of the oil tank I only got about 2 quarts. What am I missing??

Was it low on oil to begin with? What about the transfer case oil? Are they requiring that out as well?

Have you drained all of the oil out of the filters and the block itself? The tank only stores about 1-2 quarts and the rest stays in the crankcase. You'll also need to drain the transfer case/gearbox. You'll find steps to do that thru the forum just by doing some searches on the subject your looking for.

just read some of the other forums i mistook the pressure guage 10mm bolt for the transfer case bolt. I'll try it again tomorrow. If I can't get it i'll be back on. but yes the oil levels were originally fine.

when you ship anything across outside of the states you're required by federal and international laws to remove any and ALL hazardous materials from anything that is being shipped by air or sea in accordance with CFR(Code of Federal Regulations) 40, 29 and 21.The IATA (Int'l Aviation Transportation Association) also has parameters that have requirements to remove all fluids before air transfer of cargo. It's kind of a hassle but it's one of those things they try to do in case something happens and the bike is knocked over or broken somehow so that hazardous materials are not exposed to the environment. I really hate sounding like a know it all I just wanted to make sure I thoroughly explained the parameters of what the Feds and Europeans require before transporting vehicles overseas. That's just a breif outline. It gets really technical when you're trying to say....fly a tank over other countries...they want your paperwork before they let you fly thru their air space sometimes. Like I said....transport can be a pain in the ***. Just me 2 cents.

There is a 17mm bolt at the forward left side bottom of the engine. You must pull it before you can really drain the block. It's a PIA to get off unless you have a junk wrench that you can grind down to fit in there. They don't give you much room to get a wrench on their. Check on page 6-10 of your Owner's Manual. It will show you the location of all of the oil drain plugs. If you do not have an Owner's Manual, you can goto this link and you can open the owners manual online. Or you can download it from the forum at the second link.
