The day I took the bike to the strip it was some big-to-do out in salem, oh. More like a car show I guess with the amount of people at the track. I only got 1 run and didn't break the tire loose on launch. Whether it was because of my unfamiliarity with the bike at that point or questioning the need to heat up, i decided not to do it.
I must add that the bridgestone i have on the back now seems to be a stickier compound than the dunlop that came on the bike and anything less than popping the clutch at high rpm results in a hard launch with no tire spin. It's enough to make me question the power on my bike compared to everyone elses on here the way they talk about burning tire (even though I know it's not the case). I believe the tire compound that guys are running has a lot to do with spinning the tire on launches.
This year being more comfortable on the bike I may try to do a little heat up, but only after I prove that the track isn't sticky enough to tame this torque monster.
