going to have recall work done

I am thinking of taking my bike in to have the recall work done on it,It is an 02 it already has the tranny recall done I am not sure what all the rest of them are but I am wondering what questions I should ask the dealer about how they are going to do them and all I know I heard of some horror stories about how some recalls have been done and I just want to be safe and cover all that. thanks

Welcome to the non-recall done club.  I also have an 02 with only the tank and tranny recall done.  Mine has not had the cps, tps recall done.  Only horror stories I have heard is that some dealers cut corners and splice wires instead of removing everything required.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

I want to die while asleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

Definitely don't let them splice the wires. the ones that do that should be charged criminally. This is a safety recall and to do that makes it more dangerous.

Also the CPS is bolted to the inside of the crankcase/clutch cover. The screws probably need to be impacted out. Clumsy mechanics have scratched the case by not laying it on clean cloth or such before impacting. On one of our bikes , the previous owner made the dealer replace the case after they scratched it.

I have an '04 that I just recieved a recall notice for the TPS.  What is it that they do to resolve the issue, and should I be concerned about "lazy mechanic's" with this type of recall?  Thank's
