Re: GA Riders - Anyone Still Out There?

Went with the wife on about a 110 mile ride down to Sprewell Bluff and back across the back roads.  We got behind a husband and wife both riding Harleys on Gordon road going about 50 mph.  After we had followed them a couple of miles, the wife pull out and passes all 3 of us on her VStar 650.  I think that she might be getting the warrior spirit.  She hasn't ever ridden my warrior, but the day is coming and I know that the VStar will no longer make her happy.  She wants to plan a trip to Helen, GA sometime soon if possible, but only if other women are going.  Gotta make it soon as hunting season starts in a couple of weeks for us PETA (people eating tasty animals) people and I will be busy trying to thin the local population.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

I would be up for a ride to Helen, people say I ride like a woman so maybe that would make your wife feel more comfortable.

    Re: Ride This Sunday?

Hey guys, I haven't been riding much lately as hunting season is on.  My brother got a nice 8 pointer last weekend, but we haven't seen anything since.  Just a word of caution, with all the hunters in the woods, the deer are acting dumber than usual.  The rut will be kicking into gear in the next 2 weeks and there will be deer on the roads in the middle of the day.  If you see a lone doe run across the road, put the brakes on and keep an eye out for a buck chasing here.  It would be a very bad thing to hit a deer on the bike.  Ride carefully and I'll try to get as many out of the gene pool as possible.

    Re: Vortex Thurday 11/5?

Any of you ATL guys want to meet up at the Vortex in little 5 points on Thursday?  This is one of the few times I'm off on a Thursday for bike night and it will soon be too cold for much of a turn out.

    Passed 2 Warriors Saturday Afternoon.

Saturday afternoon I rode up to a bike and car show in Buford and passed two Warriors one on 400 and one coming out of the bike show parking lot as I was pulling in. Was that anyone on this board?

Anyone still getting a chance to ride down here?  I've been working my butt off with the busy season at work.  I most likely will have to work this weekend also since we are super busy right before ThanksGiving. Seems that if I don't have to work, its raining and we all know how those rides turn out.  LOL

Re: Passed 2 Warriors Saturday Afternoon.

Gary, I have been getting out most weekends and riding up to the shop once a week to check on the progress of my chopper. I am working part time as a consultant while I look for a full time gig, so my schedule has been pretty flexible. If we get close to 70 during the week I'll get on the bike for an hour or so. If we don't all get together again before the new year we should at least all try to go to the Great American Motorcycle Show together on January 24th. M

Sorry Randy if it isn't a simple bolt on I take it to my chopper shop in Woodstock. Maybe the phantom, AKA Scott Wheeler, could help? I believe he did his own upgrade to the 110" engine.

That's why we call him the phantom, he only makes an appearance once a year and no one remembers who he is. He was on the ride when we came back to my place to barbecue, good guy!
