How much is it for intake, valve cover, head, and base gaskets anyways?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the last time we were in one of these there are two head gaskets you need - unless you don't need to disassemble it that far...  If you need the valve cover, 2 sets of head, base gasket, and intake seals you are looking at $110 through us for OEM.

    Hey Dan,

Looking at getting RAM's lowering kit off the forum. How much for one of those springs that usually go along with a lowering? The old chistmas bonus came through and i am looking for a few mods to keep me going. the clutch conversion would be part of the order. I still need to organize all the wiring under the tank and do the perfect install. I think i could have a monster garage for myself. Any winter dates we could throw out at the shop??

I believe I will need 2 head gaskets, 2 intake seals, two base gaskets, and two valve cover gaskets. I think I will order two exhaust gaskets also, I have had the pipe off two or three times so those should be replaced. Oil and oil filter also. Guessing the rear elbow needs a gasket.

Swany, I don't remember the $ for the spring but it's not bad at all. I have the lowering links and a eibach 1000lb and really like it.

    +1 on this info Dan.

Been thinking about getting RAM's kit too. I know I am pushing the limits of the spring with my fat butt but wasn't sure if you need to go up to the 1000 lb spring or not.

Actually trying the DIY increase your speed mod as we speak. Yeah...good old Weight Watchers diet...cut as much weight as I can. Wink

Danny, do you have the specs on the spring? It says heavy duty...but is that 750 or 1000+. Just curious.

I did the Flip N Grind with the 1000# spring, lowered it an inch or so but two up riding I still bottomed out so I have the preload cranked all the way up.  It's like a hardtail now!

I emailed LA Choppers to find out for sure, butthis is 200lbs more than stock so it should be in the neighborhood of 950 - 1000.

There are 2 head gaskets per cylinder, see diagram - I am thinking you will need 15 and 20...  The exhaust gaskets are $8 a piece you will need 3.  Let me know if you want to go through us for those and we can get them ordered up!
