The clutch was acting really wierd and I had some rod noise at take off.

It is common for the clutch to heat up, and then the cable adjustment is out of whack.  I generally adjust my clutch cable, at the lever, on the fly.  Try some synthetic oil, Mobil 1 15w50 from Wally World is fine.  My bike has been hot plenty of times, and no noises.  I have had the clutch issues, though.  I think this little issue has sold plenty of Barnett upgrade kits.....

I have the barnett kit and I run the mobil one. Seems to be running fine. Not to worried. Besides all that could happen is the motor pop then I have an excuse to build it. haha

Mike I think I heard you in my hood a few minutes ago. I came out but you were gone already. Feel free to stop next time. There is no mistaking the sound of your bike. You can hear it from a mile away....at least.

I was thinking of hitting that Chris and Robs in Fridley for their little bike night tomorrow - anyone interested?

Remember that government spends money only by taking that money out of the private economy. Put another way, when government taxes a dollar to “create” a job, it has taken a dollar out of the private economy that is no longer available to the private economy.

Have any of you guys gone in for the 16k service? Looks like I can do most myself. Just not comfy doing the valve adjustment or repacking bearings. Actually, repacking the bearings sounds strange to me. Never had a problem with stearing or the pivot joint. Just wondering if its worth the cost...not even sure what that is just what folks have posted on here.

    What do you think?

Coming from many years of dirt biking, bearing re-packing and packing is vital to ensure a long life of trouble free riding.  While you have not had any issues up to this point, it is recommended to get the old grease out and get some fresh grease in.  I am sure there are many people out there who will brag about X miles and they haven't repacked their bearings - but why take the chance?

Not sure on the valves, but after working on a new 450cc 4-stroke motocross bike (55+ hp), I am guessing the Warrior will be a walk in the part considering the valve train is from the 1950's LOL!!

My bike has got 15K miles on it now, so I was just looking in my service manual to see what I should be doing.  After our trip to Utah, my steering stem is feeling looser than I would like so I am sure I will be tearing off the front end, changing the fork fluid and repacking my bearings... soon (which will probably turn into this winter)...

Or I will just sell the Warrior and pick up a ZX14 so I can beat Mike at the dragstrip by sandbagging in the 12.5 second bracket muhahaha!

LOL I did hit the limiter there. I was watching a guy on a sport bike take off  in the left lane as I took off & wasn't paying attention. I was wondering if he heard me hit it.  I guess he probably did, if you did a 1/4 mile away.  lol
