I got my bike back. 6 1/2 months after dropping it off for the work. It gets worse.
Megan, the receptionist at Yamaha public relations in California, began making up stories about the progress of my bike rather than transfering me to the woman Deanna who was handling my case. I was told it was being fixed and it would be done soon. That was in March. I waited until April. I called. Megan told me Deanna wasn't in, I left a message. I did that every day for a week. Finally I demanded to speak to a supervisor or manager and Megan told me that I wasn't allowed to do that. Within an hour Deanna was calling me back. I explained the situation to Deanna who confirmed that she knew nothing of my bike and wondered why I was calling her. I LOST IT ON HER!!!! I calmed down and explained every detail of the account up to this point to her. She admittedly said "Why would Megan tell you that?" and at one point she whispered "oh ***" when I was telling her about all the things she should have known up to this point about what has happened to me.
That got the ball rolling and she then contacted Crazy Freddy's, who never had my bike in their shop, and they shipped the bike to the service department for a new estimate of damages. A week went by and she never called me like she promised. I called about 15 times that week and left messages every day. 9 days later I left another message stating that since I have no confirmation on where my bike is located I am contacting the police in NY and California and reporting a stolen bike and listing her name in the report. She called back an hour later. She said that the parts were overnighted and it would be done in 3 days and that I need to go down and sign a release paper.
I went down and read the paper I was supposed to sign. It was a liability waiver freeing yamaha of any further matters relating to this incident. I asked to see the bike before signing the paper and they said no. I refused to sign the paper and pointed out that the parts list included in the document only fixed the tank, exhause and 2 levers but did not address the bent fork, bent handlebars and risers, the front fork seal, the front brake and the forward control which got road rash. They then agreed to take me to see the bike. I pointed out everything I just mentioned and they really couldn't believe that the guy who wrote up the damage missed all of that. I had them make a new parts list and fax it to California. It was approved by Deanna the next day and I got a call a week later that the bike was done. The end. Oh, and I asked them to inspect the bike and they didn't. There's way more that went into this but for typings sake I summed it up best I could. Anyone up for a ride?
