Re: Special Yamaha Custom-Mirror Fixing Bolt

    Hi Bill,

Did this correct bolt go out?  I went to check it off my to-do list but it sounded like Tomba hasn't seen it yet.

     Thank you!

    Mike

Evening Tom,  I located a right hand mirror and "borrowed" the mounting bolt from it so that you would finally get the correct bolt. I checked it prior to shipping it and it has left hand threads so you should be good to go now. I shipped it today, let me know if you encounter any other problems and THANKS for your patience, Bill

Evening Mike,  Yes the bolt was shipped a few weeks ago now and I have not heard anything else, so I "assume" all is well. Thanks for the reminder, Bill

    Bill,

Sorry for the delay I've been scooting around the last couple weeks.  Tomba said he received the fixing bolt and will try tomorrow to install the mirrors to be sure its the correct thread (he said it sure looks like the correct thread!).  Remember to PM me the price so I can call you w/card info. Thanks Bro.

Dr. Tom, Excellent news the mirrors are installed!

Bill and Scott, thanks for making this happen - we know the bolt was a factory problem but you've stepped up anyway.  Its this level of service that should make every one of us keep buying through MSSS.  I'll avoid odd chrome bolts for awhile though! Big Smile

    Bill or Scott,

Is it possible to get a price quote from you for parts for a non-warrior bike?  I am looking for a set of Rinehart Pipes (part number 1800-0434).  The website would not accept the coupon code for this item.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Morning Dave,

No problem, I checked on the pipes a few minutes ago and they are available from our distributor. The price is & 849.96 plus shipping. Thanks, Bill

    Bill or Scott,

For my brother's 2000 650 VStar Classic, can I buy just one or rear wheel two spokes (laces) - maybe something hanging around your shop used?  Its the lace from the hub to the rim, and its the one that goes behind the adjacent spoke.  This is sorta confusing so I can send a pic, or buy one of each of the 4 types if they are in some old rim out back.

Odd request, but thanks for letting me ask it.

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

I wish I could help you out on this one BUT I don't have anything that I can get a couple of spokes out of. If I locate something I will let you know. Thanks for checking with us, Bill

Thanks Bill.  If you stumble across any just stuff 'em in the box with the VStar650 parts I just ordered for my little brother's bike and lemme know the price.  I know its unlikely.  I went to http://www.buchananspokes.net/categories/spokes.asp but they haven't responded yet.  Maybe we will get lucky.  Later.  Mike

Scott, can I get the YES purchased with the discount?  I just picked up my bike a few months back, and the dealership said that as long as I buy the extended warranty while my factory warranty is still good, I can pick it up for the "new" bike price.  One, is this true? and two, would the BILL discount work for this purchase?

    Another Scott

Mike, I had an '02 650 classic and I've still got a lot of extra parts from it.  I don't know what your little bro is trying to do, but I can go through what I've got and let you know if you're interested.  One thing i do know I've got a Pacific Coast Star Potato Chip seat if he wants.  The rest, honestly, I can't remember, but like I said, I'll look.  But I do know I don't have any spokes.  Sorry.

Re: MSSS.com Introduces A New Parts Manager!!!

He bought the bike back in 2000 and lives in Montana.  He rides it to work, and everywhere else he can, all summer, and totes the tots often (he has three kids).  His stock seat has seen better days, but if he bought a new seat it would need to be tour-capable since he likes to go distance (it runs in the family lol).

We've been making general repairs when he's in town, so stock parts might be of interest but I hate to have you make a list for nothing so I'll ask him what else he needs.

He's not big on making mods, but he's talked about a new touring seat, and firmer rear spring, clear signal lenses, saddlebag hoops and new bags, an LED rear tail/signal set-up, a longer kick stand (he said the 2000 is shorter).

Thanks for offering Scott, I'll pass it along and let you know what he says!

If he's looking for a touring seat, this is definately not the one for him, but whenever I get home today, I'll take a look at what I've got.  The more I think about it, the more I remember I have, and more importantly, where it is.  I don't want to say I have anything else without double checking though, just in case I'm remembering for the wrong bike.
