    New R1. ...

It's growing on me. The 04's blew me away. This one isn't the same for me. Technically a nice imporvement over the previous 07-08 gen. Can't wait to see one in person.

I can't argue with that Mike. I prefer my Ohlins to the LE version (tuned for street). All I need is the Marchesini wheels and mine would be smokin hot.

If I could fit on one, I would be riding the black one today and NOT the Warrior.

Looking at the routing for the exhaust, I'll be there will be an aftermarket single, side-exit exhaust for this model.

JP I was up at a dealership in ohio called state 8 and they have Replica Moto GP gsxR and R1 with the coolest paint jobs and Moto GP exhausts that were firing out under the belly and out right side.. Coolest bikes Ive ever seen. No top of the line goodies but sweeeeet to look at. I will try to get some pics this weekend and post them here,, They wanted $15,000 for the bikes which is TAX considering, but still a cool dealership option..

Looks a bit too "busy" to me for some reason.  The R1 has been the appearance standard for the japanese sportbikes for a while but the new one just doesn't have the same visual appeal to me for some reason.  Looks like a lot stuff going on with it and for some reason I don't care for the slab side look on a R1.  It kind of reminds me of the CBR 1KRR for some reason and that it isn't a good thing.  That said, a buddy just bought a new ZX10R and it looks like hell to me as well so what do I know.

I agree fully. Damn the new R1, it's ugly along with the CBR and ZX, I plan on getting a new GSXR when I retire my '05 soon. I've been in a long relationship with the R1's until the '07 remake, I just can't get over it, and busy looks is a good way to put it. I am really disapointed with the looks and we all know the GSXR trumps the R1 in just about everything aside from looks, well until recently.

EDIT: Though at least it has a 190/55 series tire on it and a GSXR rip-off multi-map selection. Great..................not

I was really disappointed in the way they routed the exhaust under the seat again.  I was really thinking they were going to go with the low right side exit, MotoGP style.  The current set up looks a little to much like the ZX10R, which wasn't my favorite look to begin with.  Routing all that way up means a lot of extra material = extra weight.   The only other thing I don't understand is why they haven't gone the way of the flushmount front turn signals.  I like the rest of the look.

NOT as SEXY as the 848

If you want it done right, do it yourself - then explain what you did to the engineer.
