    Had my Corbin recovered

I bought my Corbin Stinger in February or so and tried having them do some inlays with dark red snakeskin with my initials and what was supposed to be tribal flames but I only had pictures of my bike at the time and hadn't actually ridden it down.  It didn't turn out well and the color was way off so I tried some dyes and crap but never got it any better then this.....

    old seat

It wasn't just the color though obviously.  I liked the "M P" in the middle section but pretty much all the rest just didn't work so I went back last week and had it recovered.  It's still not perfect and not exactly what I asked for but I like it.  The sides and middle part are "carbon fiber" as well as the inlaid tribal flames down the back and I had them do the stitching in black thread but then I went over it with a dark red dye pen to give it a slight hint of the Dark Cherry feel to tie it in with the bike's paint.  I also touched up the edges of the inlaid area on the back with some black so you didn't see the slightly visible uncolored cut portion of the leather.  Here is how it looks now.....

    new seat

I think the seat's "carbon fiber" look goes well with the actual CF frame inserts, pivot hole covers, neck inserts, and other covers I have on my bike.

I like it. Then again, I liked the first one as well.

Gone. Too much editing. Baby about it, yes. I would like to have real discussions. If I want to have things not reported/discussed\deleted I would watch main stream media. This was one of my alternatives. Later all.

I think the second one is way nicer than the first.  Good Choice!

Forgiveness is between them and god....it's my job to arrange the meeting.

What kind of time frame did Corbin get that done for you? Just curious to know what to expect.

It's carbon fiber look..."Carbon-Fiber leather, Black Genuine leather material with a nylon weave bonded to the outter surface to provide the look of Carbon Fiber. Provides excellent friction for sport riding and a look to match"

Got it on my ZX6R custom Corbin and I love it.

I don't remember exactly but it was long enough for me to eat at the diner and read a magazine or two and still be bored.  I actually started wandering around and took pictures to give a virtual tour that I posted up in another thread somewhere last week.  Maybe 2 or 3 hours?  When I got it made originally it took half the day but this was just a recovering.

And yeah, it's just a carbon fiber pattern.  I don't even think theres any actual weave to it, it's just a stamped texture I believe.  Just like their alligator, snake, ostritch, etc.  Now that I think about it I went with the vinyl "cf" version because it was better for the inlay then the leather "cf".  Also the two leather carbon fiber prints were either too shiny or two dull but the vinyl matched just right although it doesn't look it in the picture.

Thank you all for the compliments.  I'm diggin' it much better and I'm happy that it's still unique.

Wow, that looks great!  The older one looked pretty good, too.  The new cover looks incredible.

I don't know if I'd be able to ride on that.  Too much appreciation for art, simple fear of damaging and/or wearing out such a beatifuy peice of work..
