    barnetts clutch install post?

    All,

I have done a search but there is so much stuff on the barnett clutch that I cant find the post I am looking for and im hoping you guys can help.  Im looking for a post that has step by step (or close to it) instructions with tips etc on how to install the barnett clutch.  I thought i saw one a while back and I cant seem to find it now.  I also thought that someone (arizonawarrior maybe) had started a post that contained a bunch of other "how to" posts I had marked it as one of my favorites here on the site but now I cant seem to access my faves.  any help you guys can give would be appreciated.  this time i will save the posts to my favorites on my browser

    thanks

    Mike

Hey Mike, you also have Frankenstein's blog.   http://www.fxstein.com/blog/index.php?op=ViewArticle&articleId=46&blogId=1

At the bottom of the article there's a link to more pix.

I'm guessing if you searched as much as you say you may already know this, but just in case. In fxstein's tutorial  he had to modify his because it was an older version of the clutch. I believe barnett changed the specs on the clutch so the newer version does not need to be modified.

    Re: barnetts clutch install post?

We did a monster garage in MN and KJA did this to his bike. I am not by any means a confident person when it comes to these things, but after seeing it done i am pretty sure that i coud do it by myself, but would rather have another set of hands to help. When you put the purple plate on, make sure that you kind of twist/spin it a bit so that it fully engages the bracket in the clutch housing. When we did the one in MN it looked like it was on fine and after getting everything all sewen back up and torqued down it wouldn't grab. So after pulling things back apart and a few head scratches is was something that small as to make sure the plate was fully engaged. I have not done this to my bike, yet hopefully, but man it felt sweet having that clutch spring back.

     Good luck...
