    Deceleration rough idle while cold.

Not to long ago I installed a BAK and got the bike maped.  It was running great for the first month or so.  Now when it is cold, about the first 5 or 6 minutes of an in town ride when I decelerate just before I stop the idle drops so low that the bike has stalled on me.  Even when I am sitting at the light I have to wrap the throttle to keep it running.  Once it gets warm it some how corrects its self.  I thought I would give raising the idle a try which worked to keep it at just below 1000 RPM at idle when cold.  The down side is when she warms up the idle jumped to about 1500 RPM and I look like a retard reving his motor sitting at the light.

When I did the BAK I put new plugs could it be that they are fouled already?

Any thoughts on how to fix it?

You might want to check your LCV hoses to see if any of them came loose ... or even the LCV Plug, make sure is snapped in good.

The LCV is what controls your idle until the bike warms up. (so I'm told Big Smile)

Also if you did an AIS block you might want to recheck the plugged vacum port on the throttle body and while you are there check all hoses replaced in the BAK installation.

What Siradud said.  Otherwise the next most obvious possibility is you and/or the tuner didn't do this first:

    • Do the 'Perfect PC3 Install' if needed.
    • Make sure both air filters are clean.
    • Make sure all 4 plugs are clean and gapped.
    • Make sure warn idle is 850~950 rpm in the Dynojet software.
    • Set Zero% throttle to zero% in the Dynojet software.
    • Then set 100% throttle if necessary.
    • Then map the bike.

If these things were done, then did you do the TPS and CPS recalls if/as needed?

There's no data in your gallery so its all guesswork from there.

Not sure if the TPS and CPS recalls were done.  I bought the bike used so I will check that out.

Thanks for all the info.  I guess I have some work to do this weekend.

unplug the PC3 , if the problem goes away, well somewhat anyways then there's your problem.
