engine cuts out... is it a fuel problem ?

Hi there,  Recently I ran out of fuel, when I refilled my tank, engine started for a while, and cut out, then wouldn’t start again. I had no idea what was wrong; I suspected clogged injectors or something like this, had no time to take care of it, so I left my bike in the garage. After couple days, I’ve started engine without any problems, at first time. I took my warrior for a spin, rode like 30 miles without any problems, and then suddenly engine started chocking and finally cut out. I waited like 10 minutes and it started again, no problems what so ever. It was good until last Sunday, after 30-40 miles, then engine started chocking and cut out. I waited 5 minutes; it ran for 2 minutes and cut out. It repeated couple times, and then engine wouldn’t start at all. I got my bike towed away to my friend’s garage. Yesterday I picked my bike up, and brought home. Engine runs good again. Any idea what’s going on with my warrior? I need your opinions before I’m going to drop him to the stealer.

did you check your dry breaks? Maybe pull them apart, then make sure you hear them click together.

If your Fuel Light is turning on then it might be a Dry Break Loose... If not then you might want to check the CPS/sensor.

LOL... I almost beat you badadatude..... but I did beat you Allsmiles, though your response was more detailed...Big Smile

Let me welcome you to the 4M first.  First thing I would check are the dry breaks.  Unplug them and push them back together so that they click.  The are located under the left side AIS scoop and under the seat.  The one under the seat gets a lot of people.  You didn't mention if your fuel light was on or not, that is a clue the dry breaks are loose.  The second thing to ask is have you had the TPS and CPS recalls done?  The CPS does things like this when it starts going bad.  A lot of people had had issues with the bikes cutting out around 3000 RPM and this is also a CPS issue.   Try to give us a little more info and someone will give you several things to check.

I know the voices aren't real, but they do have some good ideas.

I want to die while asleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.
