    Wheels??

Dumb queston.. what year did the warrior go to 5 spoke wheels, or does it just depend on what day it was built?? I have an 07 bought brand new with 4 miles on it and from what I have gathered so far...it should have 5 spokes.... any help appreciated.

That's weird. You have radial brakes but three spoke wheels. I wonder if somebody at the dealer swapped out the wheels while they were putting it together ??

The 5-spoke wheels started in '2006' with the radial frt brakes. You have 3-spoke wheels that belong on model year '2005' & <  Surprise

Also, the frt rotors are different. 5- hole mount on the 5-spoke whl and 6-hole mount on the 3-spoke.

If that is a new bike from a Yamaha dealer you got screwed IMO Angry

Yep, you got screwed for a set of 5 spokes. By the looks of your pictures you have the 5 spoke rear pulley.

Dayyyyum. Hate me yet?  Friggin Yankee dealers.. always screwing somebody or something.. LOL.

Yep. You should have five spokes.  I'm not even sure that the 3 spokes woudl mount up properly if just swapping them out.. Anyone else here know 'bout that?

    Re: Wheels??

Don't think it's unsafe.  Now that I think of it, *** (who bought my other bike) put a set of 5 spokes on it and it was an 02, so I guess they are swappable.  I'd be back on the phone with that jackass dealer tomorrow letting them know that I expect the stock wheels to be put on the bike.. I'd also want to know WHY they swapped them out?

wow - someone's riding around with your 5-spoke wheels....I'd be pi$$ed!  Go back to the dealer and have them get you a set of 5-spoke wheels otherwise threaten to file a complaint with mother Yami!

    Re: Wheels??

Three-spoke rims is not a big deal IMO although its not what you paid for.  Call Star and complain.

The radial caliper doesn't care if the rotor is '02 or 06 style since dimensions are the same for both (except #bolts as earlier).

BTW only the front calipers/cylinder are different.  The rear brake remains the same '02-'08 including rotor.

Hopefully you have the '06+ exotic front radial calipers and the slightly taller (more volume) front master cylinder.  Its doubtful they would swap all that out so I'm sure you are okay there.

Here's the differences in the brake system part numbers in case helpful to you: http://rswarrior.com/forums/p/114111/930545.aspx

No problem, I've been learning what I can out of interest myself.  From the Star website:  "Dual 298mm front disc brakes and radial-mount four-piston calipers, and a 282mm rear disc combine for incredible, supersport-spec stopping power."  Radial mount calipers have significantly better stopping power, remain better aligned during braking, and yes the system costs more due to exotic hardware.  The front master cylinder is taller for more fluid volume.  Note that brake pads are identical (1-pad per caliper) with that in mind here's a helpful link:  http://www.motorcycledaily.com/13november02radialbrakes.html

Tell them you want the five spokes(original eq.) or you'll get a lawyer. If that does'nt work let me know, I know a good lemon law lawyer.
