Sad [:(] Nor-Cal Warrior Rider Down!!! (Yankee)

    Hey All,

I have some bad new to share.  I just got a call from David (site memeber Grady - Yankee's Husband) that Bonnie (Yankee) had an accident on her horse (actual horse) and broke her back.  She has some major spinal damage and the doctors say she may never walk again.  She didn't suffer any other damage other than her back so she will pull through - but it's not going to be easy.  She is in the Trauma Hospital in Santa Rosa but she can not have any visitors at this time other than family.  I will post up a ride date once visitors are allowed and is a good time for a big group of us to go.  David says that there is no contacting her at this time either and to please hold off until we get the go ahead.

The West Coast Warriors know Yankee to be one of the best riders and one of the best friends we have in the group.  I first stared riding with Yankee several years ago and she was always on my tail.  Now I can't even keep up with her as she now rides on Oliver's tail.  Except when we are riding slow, she always has a smile on her face and something funny or warm to say.

Yankee is a Parole Office by day, a wife and mother by night, and hell on wheels on the weekends.  We wish you a FULL and SPEEDY recovery Yankee and you will be in our hearts and thoughts each and every day.

     ~Love, Jody, Heather and Evan

This is horrible! She is definitely one awesome woman. I will keep her in my prayers for a recovery. Right now I am glad that she will recover. As for her back injury, that will be in my prayers as well.

Please keep us posted on how she is doing and if we are going to send her flowers. I will chip in.

Bonnie, you will be in all the prayers of all my friends and family, in their friends and family's prayers, and in the massive family you have here on this site.  I have no doubt (being the strong, spunky fighter that you are) that you will make it through this.

    Tons of Love,  Scott

Well that is a shame....our wishes for a speedy recovery.  She will be in our thoughts daily.  Let us all know if there is anything we can do.

I will watch the posts to see when we might be able to do the ride to "wish her well!"

I didn't know Bonnie well but I did meet her at the Tahoe runs, she was cheerful and friendly. Hoping for a better than expected recovery Bonnie.

Dang horses, if they had handlebars and a throttle you'd probably be fine.  My thoughts are with you and yours, good luck.

I'm always sad to hear this kind of news whether I've met the person or not and I really hope the best for you Bonnie.  Jody if you or someone else is coordinating getting some flowers to her from the members I would also like to contribute.  Hang in there David and Bonnie, many thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy and full recovery!
