My boss was looking for tires for his 07 Venture, and after seeing the markup and 97$/hour labor rate @ Camden motorsports, (the local SE Georgia Yamaha Dealer) he went looking for another place, North Florida Yamaha, - Yullee, Fl. It was supposedly affilliated with Ron Turner Yamaha of Jacksonville( I do not know personally, and is not fact). They gave him a reasonable quote and he ordered the tires and pre paid, He made an appointment for last week to get them installed. when he shows up with his bike when they opened, they told him it may take a few days, (what was the point of making an appointment) then he asked them about putting the air pressure that was on the tire - not what the bike MFG book said - and they gave him flack about that, well we go to pick the bike up and he gets 12 miles down the road and he hears a clicking noise, so we got a trailer and brought the bike back when the place opened the next morning.
So, he calls the sevice manager later that morning and they give him a song and dance about a recall on the back axle spacers, He asks if at all possible to get whatever it took to make the bike right, and he would be there to pick it up @ 5 pm, We looked everywhere and could not find any info on any recall on this bike. I told him maybe its an internal service bulliten, So when he shows up @ 5, they can not provide any evidence of any kind that there was a service bulliten or recall, and they have not even touched the bike all day long. SOOOO, by this time he's a little hot and expresses the displeasure with the service MGR who just told him there is no way he can tell whats wrong with his bike before closing time. He convinces them that they are going to need to work a little over if that what it takes. they get the wheel off of it and find very tooth on the drive shaft is chipped, the gears where not lined up when they torqued it down. Ya know making a mistake is one thing, (stuff happens) Lying to cover it up is intollerable.
