I've asked DynoJet a follow-up question to get the answer for those of you asking about how to know if you're getting the newest model when you buy on-line, and is there a part# change to indicate the TPS plug upgrade.
I bought my PC3USB in early 2004 as model# 1020-0078. I've checked my unit and it does not have the TPS plug so I'll be sending it back for updating.
Now, this could be meaningless but as we all know the current partl# is and has been for some time 403-411 HOWEVER this doesn't mean much because googling both part#'s returns the same information for the same PC3USB. It could be that one part# is for dealer use and both are the same exact identical unit. So I asked DynoJet if this part# difference specifically indicates the TPS plug improvement which does not need perfect install. I also asked how long ago the TPS plug was added, it might have ben awhile ago.
Those of you who want to buy a PC3USB and want the most advanced unit, hang in there I'll post their response for you.
Those of you who have a PC3USB and want to know if its the newest model, look at your bike and notice if the PC3 came with a complete TPS plug, or if you added a couple wires to the existing TPS wires. If you added wires, you can either do the perfect install or you can remove the PC3USB and ask DynoJet to update it with the TPS circuit and plug instead.
It would be nice to know if anyone already has the PC3USB with complete TPS plug, who of course did NOT do the perfect install, and if they have verified that their set-to-zero-throttle idle is rock-steady when tuning, and on up the throttle% scale is also rock steady when tuning.
Finally, I do NOT know what will happen if you have a new TPS plug version and do the perfect install anyway.
That's all I know for now.
