    Star Branded Apparel

    Greetings:

Anybody know of a good online dealer for Star branded apparel (hats, jackets, etc?)? Yamaha needs to pressure dealers to have more of this stuff in stock like Harley dealers do. I know there is a demand for it.

I am a self-confessed addict to Star Wear and have ordered a whole lot of it. I TOTALLY agree with you that it is almost embarrassing to go with my friends to their Harley Dealer to see all the goodies and then back into most Yammy dealers to see dust on the bikes, housed in an old garage, and NO Star apparel in sight. Depressing. It has always been that very simple reason that I have considered buying from HD. I haven't done it yet, but Yamaha really needs to step up their customer service to EXISTING owners.

I digress to answer your initial question. I have been very pleased with Preferred Powersports. Very easy to find online. They are great about communicating with me about shipping and I almost always get my stuff within about 10 days. Also Rick Roush Motorsports. I currently have about 4 Star jackets, chaps, about 5-6 hats, and a dozen Star T-shirts. Add to that a Star belt, wallet, watch, pins, decals, blah blah blah. Just wanted you to know that I really have ordered a ton of the stuff. Too bad NONE of my 5-6 local stealers carry ANY Star apparel. I'd be buying it from them. Hope this was all helpful.

     Greg:

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. I too am hooked on branded gear. Our local delers are pretty much only interested in selling basics like helmets and jackets. It makes me wonder how much better Star (Yamaha) would do if they opened up their own dealerships as opposed to the system they have now where each dealer sells everything from scooters to water bikes.

I should have cut a little slack to some larger dealers. I know Denver has a great Star Dealership (Coyote Motorsports) with tons of great apparel and accessories. I'm sure other large cities do as well. I guess it's just wishful thinking to desire a Harley-type community. Thank God we have this forum huh?

Im not a big fan of advertizing ANYONES apparrel. One of the reasons I HATE most of todays "fashions". Everything has to have a HUGE logo across the chest or back or shoulder or ass. (well the last one was more for womens casual wear). I have a bunch of t-shirts with Nautica, RL, Tommy, Old Navy, etc but I rarely ever wear them. Whetever happend to just having a little croc on the *** pocket area.

As for STAR-wear. They have some really nice jackets. If they were cheaper and toned the logos down a bit I would be a much bigger fan.

The nice thing about most Star Wear is that it is subtle. HD stuff reminds me of Tommy Hilfiger. I really am impressed with especially the Star leather gear. They use Gericke on the jackets.

y'know, I had another look through the website and I really like alot of the riding gear. Too bad none of them come in my size but Im much more impressed with the current line.

I don't like branded gear that much, so I've never even looked for Star apparel. I bought a cap from a member that says RSW on the front and Road Star Warrior on the back. It turned out pretty nice. If I owned a Harley I wouldn't buy their branded gear either.
