I think a possibility is Hiawasee, GA. The accees to the dragon is about an hours ride, there is also access to some cool areas in n. ga, like helen, amicoloa falls, unicoi mtn. etc. There is also road atlanta, and the drag strip in commerce which would be about 1.5-2 hr ride from Hiawasee.  I really like the idea of moving the higher speed rides to a controlled enviroment, which could be an awesome enviroment to get some vendor support.

My other thought is to stay where it is. Maybe drum up some support from dealers to come out and support the event and track day. I really had a great time, but I think the week should be moved into early may to avoid the rain and colder temps and maybe drop the return to the dragon event. The twice a year thing could be were guys get burnt out.

And from the far north I have to agree.  I've been thru Gatlinburg 2x.  Traffic doesn't move.  The first time was because I didn't know any better.  Second time I-40 was shut down.

I was going to watch this for a bit more before I said something stupid.  But why wait?  I've thought about maybe it should be moved.  But as I read this thread, I'm changing my mind.

The big change I would like to see is for it to be moved back a week.  Here in the coastal New England the riding season does not begin until about the end of April.  That is because they continue to sand and salt the roads.   So it is like getting used to riding again -  On the Dragon

I agree it is a crap shot when it comes to the weather. I, personally think we need to stick with the same week being the 3rd week of April.

If it stays at the dragon, which I would support, I would have to say that the cabins that Dwight and JD stayed at WF2 would be the best option for the main hub. 3-5 cabins that are co-located with one another and would be reasonable on the cost. Ed you should look at the Hiawasee, Ga thing if you are really considering moving the event. I probably wont be stateside anyway, but I could get some of my motofriends in N.Ga to sugest some rides .

Ed, have you decided how you want your bike to look when it gets repainted. Looking forward to the new paint scheme.

I will probably go with the same Candy Cobalt Blue, but with a slightly different base to darken the blue. The graphics are most definitely going to be different just what will it be????? Decisions, decisions......

BTW, Thank you for Being a Soldier in difficult times for our armed services. From one soldier to another. Thank you.

You were a paratrooper, weren't you?

Thanks for the comments, hopefully I will get to see all of you at the next WF, but I seriously doubt it, especially if we deploy with the MEU.

Maybe you could do some true fire design in blue hues and white for the hottest parts of the flames.

I have been to all three Warriorfest's and it gets better every year. The KSL has been the main hub for all three years with no problem. There is also The Ironhorse  just around the corner if you don't like the KSL. The Warriorfest @ the Dragon has been a huge success , why are we trying to change it , leave it alone and start the sign up sheet.Just my opinion Big Smile

Any event that someone would hop accross the pond from the Great Isles of the Brits for is worth keeping.  I couldn't come this year, but I'm already making plans for next.  Move it for five, but at least let me get my chance at four!!!

*sigh* I guess it really isn't up to me anyway...Hey Warriordog, if they move it, do you wanna go camp up there anyway?  We could call Cadfather, Lemming, Preach, and hey...even Ed and the gang to see if they'll meet us there!  I mean, it wouldn't be warriorfest (because they're moving it) but we could make an open invite for everyone who wanted to come...Big Smile

Sounds like the overall opinion is to leave Warrior Fest at the Dragon. I'm not against that but if someone were to plan/post a trip to the Ozarks or another destination, I'd probably ditch the dragon trip, at least next year and go for a change of scenery.

So...who's gonna start the Cruise the Ozarks thread? Wink

I gotta say that I enjoyed the WF this year better than previous ones. I think it's because I took the time to do some site seeing (Clingmans Dome and Cades Cove). In the past, I've concentrated so hard on riding as many roads as possible and as far as possible that I didn't take time to see and do other things in the area. Whether I'm in the NC/TN mountains or in Ozarks next year, I will take time to get invovled in some non motorcycling activities as it proved to be much more enjoyable than just riding the entire week.

GOD DOES NOT BELIEVE IN ATHIESTS.

I am all for adding this event. I wouldn't miss it. The Ozarks are cool.

We could make it the fall event
