Just wanted to let you guys know I sold the bike last week. One of those things I said I would never do but hey, things change. I'm hopefully going to be able to get some new projects going but we'll see what the economy has to say about it.

I wanted to thank all those that I've met here and/or ridden with over the past 5 years. It truly was an honor meeting all of you and I had such a great time getting to know you. You all know who you are. I can only hope that in future projects, I'll be able to find forums that have as many great people as I've found here. I'll continue to drop in from time to time to say hi and I'll keep an eye out for the next Arizona or Mammoth Ride so that maybe I can meet up again and see you all.

SoCal Warrior Spotting Thread

I'm with you amospro, there should be a dedicated thread to Warrior sightings, so I started one.

I was out on PCH between Santa Monica and Malibu today and saw three or four warriors. Since I was with a group of sport bikes, I couldn't turn around and chase'm down. If anyone was in that area or in the Santa Monica mountains (specifically on Kanan) check in. I was the Midnight with two rockets.

Here's an event that I've started going to every Wednesday night. In the past couple weeks, I've meet a few other Warrior riders at this event. It's a very laid back atmosphere with mostly that other kind of bike but there are quite a few metrics. They have a roped off parking area for bikes only that is patrolled by security guards. It would be great if more RSW's could make it out. Perhaps a pre-event meeting could be arranged in the future for us to all ride in together. Anyway, come check it out.

Hello All,

I have a good buddy of mine and my brother in law Todd (IBDLAW) who is been put on Active Duty from the Navy Reserves and is shipping out next week for a year or longer so we wanted to take him out for a fun motorcycle ride before he goes. He lives in Victorville, Todd lives in Rancho Cucamonga and I live in Culver City. My delema is where to take them for the ride! We all have this Sunday and Monday off so its only going to be an overnighter! Any suggestions?

I say a good 5 or so hour ride would be good! Head North up the Coast, East towards Palm Springs or West towards San Diego? Any tips or suggestions would be appreicated.

Hey All,

I have some bad new to share. I just got a call from David (site memeber Grady - Yankee's Husband) that Bonnie (Yankee) had an accident on her horse (actual horse) and broke her back. She has some major spinal damage and the doctors say she may never walk again. She didn't suffer any other damage other than her back so she will pull through - but it's not going to be easy. She is in the Trauma Hospital in Santa Rosa but she can not have any visitors at this time other than family. I will post up a ride date once visitors are allowed and is a good time for a big group of us to go. David says that there is no contacting her at this time either and to please hold off until we get the go ahead.

The West Coast Warriors know Yankee to be one of the best riders and one of the best friends we have in the group. I first stared riding with Yankee several years ago and she was always on my tail. Now I can't even keep up with her as she now rides on Oliver's tail. Except when we are riding slow, she always has a smile on her face and something funny or warm to say.

Yankee is a Parole Office by day, a wife and mother by night, and hell on wheels on the weekends. We wish you a FULL and SPEEDY recovery Yankee and you will be in our hearts and thoughts each and every day.

West Coast Warrior Rally 2009 - Sept 10-13th

OK, Ya'll. I am posting this up now so you all have time to plan. I am currently booked out on 2 other weekends in September so people like me need to plan NOW. So hopefully people like KJUM, DT, Gonad, CatDaddy and all those wusses from the East Coast and Mid-West have time to plan. This should be the Biggest and most well-planned West Coast ride ever. Meaning, the most incredible roads, scenery and over night destinations yet.

I am also writing this up now so I can make notes while they are fresh in mind.

Thursday: Everyone leaves home and heads to Mammoth Lakes or June Lake (TBD). Both are nice towns with huge mountain sides surrounding gorgeous lakes.

Friday: We leave the Mammoth area and visit Yosemite then up and over the beautiful Sonora Pass and end up in Virginia CIty - Yes, we plan to stay in the original Wild West. The home of Mark Twain, Bonanza, Bucket of Blood and the Famous Suicide Table.

Saturday: Take some backroads through Carson CIty, up and over Ebbits Pass and into South Lake Tahoe - this year we plan to stay closer to State Line so we can stumble back from the Casinos and Nightlife. As usual, we will probably start out at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo then hit the Casinos and or Clubs.

It's too early to book Hotels - most websites say no more than 50 weeks in advance. I will call or update soon. Be ready to reserve a room in a couple weeks. Reserving now costs you NO MONEY. Most will have 24 hour cancellation times.

Oregon/SW Washington Riders! Last BIKE NIGHT!

Next Wednesday the 9th of September is the last bike night at the Corner Saloon in Tualitan. Bike night kicks off at aroun 4:30 and goes till whenever. Last year on the final night there were a couple hundred bikes and a band. I would assume it will be the same this year. We'll be taking the back roads from Rocklin to Grass Valley and the Nevada County Fairgrounds. We'll have CHP escort us from FRONT parking lot (I80 exit ROCKLIN ROAD) in Rocklin and guide us to Highway 193 to Lincoln...then on SR 65 to Wheatland picking up SR 70...cutting across on Hammonton-Smartville Road and then join SR 20 into Grass Valley. 58 miles. Nice scenery. Hard Rock Cafe' will provide us with another nice lunch and Johnsonville Brats will be cooking up some hot brats. Just don't call them hot dogs ! www.waltgray.com

On my way to work last night (4/6 around 17:40)) i spotted a road warrior come flying by in the carpool lane on the san mateo bridge. No biggie to most but that was the first time i have seen another warrior on the road in my neighborhood!!! So ride on man! Oh yeah it was the fastest color too just like mine. []

I figured that these pics may help with newbies riding in groups, as the weather is getting nice enough in parts of the country.

I've been going on rides with a lot of newbie riders lately. The groups are getting larger every week, as the newbies keep inviting more newbies. Good thing is that I have a few riders that have ridden with our Warrior group rides several times and have learned a lot from the veteran Warrior riders. They have helped inform the newbies about ride etiquette, hand signals, ride formations, and safety concerns. Helps with keeping all the riders on the same page & safe.

I posted this earlier but not correctly so now its a bit of short notice. However I wanted to invite all of you in the PNW to come on a ride with somebody and I. Tomorrow Saturday the 11th we are going to be taking off from Portland at the 217 I-5 interchange. Here is the plan

Ride up to Mt Hood

Down to Hood River

Cross over into Washington

Ride up to Mt. St Helens

Then back country back to Portland

I've seen a black or dark colored warrior heading south on I-5 near the pocket area after work about 4 times now on my way home. Bike has a sissy bar. Anyone we know?
