Tach removal

For those of you who have removed your tach before. How did you do it? I've got it torn down to where you can see the underside of the tach. Im struggling to remove the tiny phillips head screws on the inside. Seems they just want to strip whenever I try and turn them.

Installing PR High Comp Pistons

I will be getting some PR high comp pistons in the near future and will be installing them the first of the year. I have done an extensive search and while there has been a lot of talk , I did not find a good step by step process recorded by anyone. Is there anyone in the drivable area that would be willing to help when I start . I can drive to you or you can walk me through it via the internet or phone.Any helpful advice would be appreciated also.

Oh, and I can pay in beer ,food and/or smokes, maybe a little $$ also

Clear alternatives Problem... Update...

I just received yesterday a clear alternatives tail light. (I had ordered it before I saw the negative posts for them) Well wouldnt ya know it I hooked it up I have running lights blinkers but NO brake lights... I tried alot of things took the wires out of the connector and tested them separatly they worked when put back on the bike everything except brake lights... My other light workd just fine when going back and forth, I just put my other unit back on... I am going to send it back get my money back,but I really want a intagrated tail light... Where can I get one? I saw some on ebay but they where over priced... What to do...

Just getting ready to install the SR-2 and thought id powdercoat the casing, stripped the last bolt,,10 minute job turns out to be a day job,I didnt have an easy out on hand will have to wait till tomorrow and get one.Noticed a white heaveier oil (grease) maybe, on the inside on the casing , anyone know what it might be

PC Ignition Module

Let me start off by saying that although I am new to the sight I did use the search option before posting this. I was originally going to do engine work to my 05 Warrior in this off season but because of the economy it is not in the budget. I was wondering if I put the Ignition Module in my bike If I would get any horsepower or torque gains? All I have done to my bike is K&N filters, PC3, and 31 tooth front pulley. I figured if I did the 108 upgrade I would need it anyway so I was going to install it this winter and get in dynoed in the spring. The engine upgrade would have to wait until the next off season but I am still hoping for a little gain anyway.

PCIII Map needed

So I checked the "got to have maps"page, can't find what I need. I have VBak, Rinehart even pipes, AIS blockoffs, stock size HC Patrick Racing pistons,stage two heads-oversized valves, Patrick racing cams, Boared throttle body. Any maps out there for me?

PC Map question

I just finished my AIS block and VBAC mods and I have V & H Big Shot pipes. I took the bike out for a spin after I completed the two mods and it didn't run very well. I uploaded a PC map called MATTKCRenoD that was posted by CarKnee in the download section of this site and installed it in my PC. The bike took off like a raped ape and ran quite well, very little backfiring.

My question is this. Although I am very pleased with the way my bike is now preforming, their is alway room for improvment. Does anyone know of a PC map that may be better suited to my bike considering the mods and pipes that i have listed above?

Exhaust mod question

I know what I want for my 05 midnight warrior. I like the black ceramic Viper 2 from Fuggin Fabs. Looks really cool. I know I should add a PCIII or something similar. I also should add a ram air so I have been told. I will need to relocate the rear brake resv. So I am looking at 1500-1600 installed. But I do not have all the cash now to buy the lot.

Question is: Can I just buy the pipe for now then add some of the stuff later. I know if might not run optimum without all the mods, but will it run shitty or will it hurt the bike if I add mods over time. First the pipe and relocate on the r.brake, then add a PCIII later, then the ram air after that. This way I can easily budget and get started on my mod quest.

Any drawback with this line of thinking? I am moderately mechanical and have a decent set of tools. Can I install the pipe, PCIII and ram air by myself or should I have a LBS do it.

Roadhouse Slip On - Need PCIII?

I am looking to add a Roadhouse Slip on to my Stock 08 Warrior and want to know if I need a PCIII with this or will I be able to bump up the cylinders with the stock ECU for this slip on?

Reserve fuel hose

Be sure to keep an eye on the fuel hose connecting to the reserve tank, located on right side of bike just in front of the oil tank. There is a metal pipe coming from the reserve tank, connected to a rubber hose, held together with a snap on fastener. Mine has been untouched for 7 years. Today while on a ride, 35 miles after tank fillup, I discovered my reserve lite on. Stopped and found fuel on my right leg and running down the right side of the rear cylinder(fuel everywhere). After examination I found the hose connection had parted, my fuel tank empty and 1Warlock nervous as he!!. Clipped the pipe and hose back together, made it to the nearest refueling station and continued on for another 150+ miles with no other problems. Gonna check it closely to see if I can find the cause. Hope this experience will be beneficial to some or all of you.

What size fender for 260 rear

how to install tail light

I have bought a clear alternatives tail light, the directions are worthless, looks like a faxed copy of four copies.... I have tried searching for a pictured or detailed post for it. Can anyone help I am planing on doing it either tonight or thursday night, I also have ordered a new licsense plate bracket from Justice, a led light kit and some other small things. Any info would help better than the peice of paper they call directions....

Baffles Question

Hey guys, had a couple questions so I fig'd I'd ask the experts. I have the Samson Shogun Short Slashers on the bike and I want to tone them down a little bit. I think they sound tinny and really high-pitched and blatty, when you let off the throttle it's like a machine gun is going off. I'm looking for a deeper sound and less of the reversion. I'd also like to try and get back some of the bottom-end, I've read everywhere that these open pipes will kill the low-end torque.

I have 3 options I'm looking at:

1) Big City Thunder - I've heard nothing but great things about them, and they are located about 20 minutes from my house, problem is they are about $80.00 just for the baffles. I know they sound awesome, and provide good backpressure.

2) Samson Baffles - They are about $35.00, but it looks like they have a LOT of metal inside the baffle, I'm afraid they will 'bottle up' the exhaust and I'll lose some top-end.

3) JC Whitney Baffles (http://www.jcwhitney.com/jcwhitney/product.jcw?nval=0&statenval=1101014675&productId=2006266&shopid=100003&pageid=13&skuId=140503&id=3337557)- They are about $5.00 each and the look just like the Samsons. I'm wondering if the samsons just cost more b/c of the name.

My questions are:

1) Does the performance of the BCT's justify the price? I could get the JC's or the Samsons installed for less than the cost of just the BCT's themselves! I know they sound awesome so I'm not worried about that.

2) Does the other style (the samson and the JC's) make them bike really quiet? I still want to hear some sound, just not be obnixous. Will all that metal inside there cut down on top-end performance? Basically will they give it too-much backpressure similar to a stock muffler and hurt performance?

Sorry for the book everyone, I'm just really confused and I don't want to make the wrong decision....thanks to everyone!!

Cobra codes

I just recently put on the barons big air v-bac system and I have the cobra sweep exhaust and the cobra TI2000R. What I would like to find out is if someone out there in warrior land has the same or close to the same set-up that I have so I can see what they have their TI2000r set at. Mine seems to be running ok but has some back-firing going on when I do a high rev. and let off of the throttle.

Stainless brake lines

I am going to be ding the front stainless lines and am trying to make sure i have everything and thought it all through. Are there any surprises? are putting in speed bleeders worth the time and money? What DOT grade brake oil is needed when i change it all out?

I am curently doing the Baron's big air kit with the AIS block off, and I am at a lost for words!!! I have a 2008 and the directions that came with the kit are worthless to me!! I have the tank off and the air box along with the coils and sensors and they are all marked, but when it came to the LCV I am lost. So I decided to start doing the AIS block off and yes you guessed it, the directions (to me) suck!!! I need help putting my bike back together or whatever I need to do to get my baby rinning and looking like it should!!! Please, if anyone could help, I would be in your debt!!! I live in ohio( By Uppersandusky)......

headlight cowl removal

Im tryin to remove the top cowl by the headlight. There are some small allen head bolts that i cant get to because the light is in the way. Anyone know of a way to get to these? Does the cowl come off by the light some other way. Any help appreciated.

Braided oil lines

Anyone ever try to clean up the wires under the tach? They are usually stored/hidden in the headlight(s). I'm prob going to downsize the lights (boobs) on my girl (her backs been killing her lately) and am wondering what to do with all the wires. I have the mini-fairing so I'd like to keep the tach where it is. The only thing I could think of was to start cutting, shortening and soldering so I have as little wire as possible under there (prob the best idea but a MAJOR pita). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Headlight works bike starts but no tail light or blinkers

I changed out my integrated tail light. After I finished the bike would not start. After 2 hours tried again and the bike started but the tail light, blinkers, tach, speedometer are all out. Nothing works but the headlight. What could it be?

Wire Connectors

Does anybody know where I can get a hold of some wiring connectors like the one's found in the headlight bucket (or also like found on the connectors for the PC 3)? I'm working on installing an electronic cruise control and I'd like to build a wiring harness that has a quick disconnect.

turn signal install

I need to buy a set of new front turn signals and was hoping for some suggestions on where I can get signals with mounting hardware. I would like to mount them to the front forks but need wider mounts since the forks have been chrome plated. any suggestions? How does the wiring work?
