Make sure who ever does the powder coating, uses a low heat powder. If they use regular powder and bake them at 425-450 degrees, it will change the aluminum properties and could cause the wheels to fail. Powder coating ANY aluminum structural member should be done with a low heat powder.

Thanks guys.. i also thought of titanium powdered coated wheels, the same color as the bike... any comments?

I think black wheels would look awesome. I have an 07 titanium.....always thinkin about black wheels!

Gotta get the obligatory mods done first though, so it might be a while til I get to that. Just did the VBAK, coil relo, AIS block, and PC III this weekend. Waiting on my PCS Monster Pro pipe and Carlini bars. Should be here this week!

It's a 300 Metz. Ben Taylor at Insight Customs in Demotte, Indiana did the build. He started with a Fat Cats fender blank and ended up with it mounted to the swing arm with frenched LED's. Rides like a dream with the AirFX air ride suspension. Check out www.InsightCustoms.com for more info on his shop.

I have an '03 with the Metallic Titanium paint and black powder coated wheels. Check out my gallery as I'm uninitiated in the art of attaching pictures. Though you can't see it clearly, the spokes are highlighted with body color paint as a subtle contrast to the black wheels. You can really see it sparkle in the sunlight. Hope this helps.

Thanks shizznizzle, i looked up that guys bike and he sold it to someone else.. cant really tell how it looks form the pics. Hopefully someone else can help me find some!

the titanium paint looks great with black rims. Go for it. There used to be a few gallery pics of some bikes done that way. Try meatgrinder's gallery if its still there

I have not seen one yet but that don't mean there not one on here. IMO the black wheels look better then the stock silver wheels.
