I have the Propipe with the comp baffle. My bike made 83hp & 102# of torque, with Churchkeys VBAK, and at that time my bike had over 45k miles on the clock. I now have over 75k miles & it still runs hard, sharp, and as fast as it needs to be, to gather up all the riders in my group. Mostly HD's in the group I ride with. The propipe sounds really low & rumbly at idle, but really barks when you screw it on. I really like it. It scrapes, but just before my frame does, as another member said. I've scraped both sides of my frame many times since I've owned it. The heat shields are the first thing to hit, after the curb feelers, and if you keep on it the chrome end-cap will take a little hit. Not very noticeable as most of the scraping takes place below where your eye hits just looking at the bike, and the heat shields are replaceable if you really care.

i just made my own they r short no baffles and it goes heaps better than the stock header with a slip on ever did

Loudest straight pipes without losing any performance:
Samson Street Sweepers + Big City Thunder Baffles! You will make any Harley guy jealous with your thunderous pipes! Those baffles do not lower the noise level, they simply clean it and make it even more growly, while restoring all lost torque. So you get some serious mean machine, with all torque behind to make your hands go numb from gripping hard those bars.

Every time I start my bike at the chopper shop, all Harley guys come to look at... wondering why.

If you want something thats loud get some samson ground pounders. Two short pipes + downturn= one loud ***. No baffles in mine and Ill put it against any bike for loudness. My friends hate riding on my right side. I just think they are really chicks.

Looks good on my midnight, but not if your bike has chrome.

Damian took the baffle out of his Propipe to make it louder. Now it sounds like a large dragon farting into a megaphone; it's not pleasant.

One more thing to consider -- the direction of the exhaust tips.

Downward, you get even distribution of the noise. Cars ahead and beside you will hear you better than just the cars behind.

Side, obviously, the side where the tip is pointing gets most of the sound. If you have a wall on one side and a car on the other, the noise gets distributed much better. The same with having cars on both sides.

Rear, the cars beside you and ahead you will not hear the real volume of your exhaust. You might think you are NOT loud enough, but you could probably be heard a mile away.

Me, I like down or side for safety reasons and also so that I can enjoy that exhaust note better. My friend has downward straight pipes, and it hurts my ear regardless of where am I around his bike, even with a full face helmet. Mine is a side exhaust pointing to the right, so I stay on the left side of the road as much as possible for better auditory presence.

You should check Big City Monster Baffles (www.bigcitythunder.com). I have one and they are not kidding about giving you a straight pipe loudness without losing the backpressure for low end torque. How true? I can wheelie my bike anytime and I have Bub Jug Huggers with Monster Baffles. Fuel programmer like the Power Commander also affects loudness as well as any intake help like K&N filters or Big Air Kits. Check mine in youtube...

speed* pipe is great all around 2-1-2. but if u want loud then shotgun pipes with baffels r a definate no no, go shotgun pipes straight thru. depending on which baffels u choose, you'll be looking at all different hp/tq numbers. more back pressure=more torque down low and a flat even torque curve. but you'll lose a few ponies up top. IMO warriors have lovely torque, so straight pipes will help what the warrior really lacks in, which is top end hp. i had street sweepers before my bms exhaust. and after i installed the bigcity thunder baffels without telling my riding buddies, they immidietley noticed how weak my bike sounded with it in. but it got sum of the bottom end back. good luck on your decision!! im sure you'll be pleased either way its always hard decicing on stuff like this until u commit and just do it.

I found mine by googling it. A yamaha shop had it on the wall for sale after someone ordered it and didn't take it.

Yep, speedstar is discontinued. I just installed one and have to say I love it. It is loud when you play, and reasonable when you ride nice. Nicer to ride with than my Bub chambermaids since the sound is futher back. Getting hard to find the 2-1-2 speedstar system anymore, so keep your eyes open. Install wasn't that bad either, about 1 hr by myself. Getting the footpeg loose was the hardest part of the entire operation.
