Idiots guide to octane.. what should I use?

I'm going to swap in 10.5:1 wiseco's and bore to 108 in the next couple weeks, now if I remember correctly its 10.5:1 - you should use 91, 12:1 - 93 octane. What I am concerned about is if I were to change cam profile do I need to up the octane as well? For example.. stock cams @ 10.5:1 or PR Cams /w 10.5:1. Would I use 91 in both scenarios?

Is there any power being thrown away to a conservative ignition advance? I don't see a lot of ignition changes other than the speedstar ecu to raise RPM (does it raise timing?), both are yamaha and they must be conservative on ignition timing.. anyone else looked into it?

High compression piston ????'s

I am thinking of doing this mod this winter, I was on O.E's web site and noticed they have these, how come in the 2nd link it doesnt have compression ratio and it has 106.3 instead. and I was looking at P.R's also and they are 10.25 -1 what ones do I buy and why. I have searched but I dont know the pro's and cons of either. thanks

Tricky Air Owners Experience

What is the take on the new tricky air ride? Does it leak down? If so, how long does it take to leak down? I am wanting to be able to lower my bike to where the tire will just touch the inside of the fender (for that killer slammed look). However, I don't want to look down while riding and see that it has leaked down. I have the 260 wide tire kit with a custom rear fender.

Missing Gallon

I ride an 08 that I bought about 6 months ago. Fantastic Bike. It was worth leaving my 87 fazer in the garage. However, I am finding that the advertised fuel capacity of 4 us gallons is not the reality. I can, from topped off to along-the-side-of-the-road, just get 2.7 us gallons in it. Anyone have any idea what is displacing an entire freaking gallon of fuel? The tech guys at the dealership are less than helpful.

On top of this, the dealership did the recall work on the fuel line and since then I have actually dropped from about 35 mpg to about 25. How is that possible?

Has anyone dealt with these problems? Any insights?

Roadstar exhaust

This might sound like a stupid question, but if the Roadstar and the Warrior both have the same engine, why does the Warrior have the extension piece on the rear exhaust pipe ? Theres some nice exhausts for the Roadstar, but not the Warrior, and I wanted to know if they would still fit.

Ticking Noise when bike shuts off

There is a ticking noise when the bike shuts off and its not the normal cool down sound. I think it is coming from under the cover on the right side of the engine that has the 102 printed on it? Sometimes I can get it to stop by switching the kill swith on an off. The bike is running perfect besides this sound when I shut the bike off. Any ideas would be appreciated??

Hey guys! I am waiting for Supreme Legends forward controls to arrive..possibly tommorow and want to get a jump on removal of the stock system. Ive done alot of searching but need advice. I went yesterday and bought a Mityvac. Whats the best way to drain all brake fluid out to eliminate a mess when removing old stuff?? Any tips tricks are gladly welcome in making my job easier. I have ridden my 05 misnight warrior as far as 116 miles in a tank. And when I fill up, everytime, it only takes 2.5 gallons. Period. I have only had the bike a month, but I read it has a 4 gallon tank. So I ride it to 100 miles-ish on the odo but it will only take that amount of gas. I fuel the bike on the kickstand. I am sure if I was sitting on it and it was upright it would take more, but not another 1.5 gallons. My fuel guage comes on and off during a ride with no pattern.. Even comes on right after a fill up. To compensate I ride to 100 miles and refuel regardless is the light is on or not. But I am having a hard time figuring why I can not get even 3 gallons into it. Any thoughts?

Bolt Thread Pitch

What is the the thread pitch on the bolts that secure the passenger foot pegs on the warrior. I think its an M12 but not sure of the pitch. I may even be wrong on the size. Please help, I am trying to get in a couple more rides before the SNOW season.

O.k for all you Warrior Gurus, I'm looking to little by little customize my 07 Warrior. I've seen many awesome images here on the forum posted by many of you. I wanted to know what is the largest size tire I can put on my Warrior now without having to change the swing arms, wheels ect?I dont knwo if it is possible. I've been a crotch rocket guy all my life and the Warrior is my first cruiser and I know nothing of it. Thanks to you guys I recently did my own oil change ( wow...2 drain plugs! Who would of known) I want to make sure I educate myself well on the Warrior before I start making any changes. I am in the process of obtaining the lowering links sold by one of the members on this site. I read great reviews so I am going to get them to lower my bike a bit until I go and get this fat tire and or kit. I am looking to get a 240 although I read I should just go get the 260. If I do so, I know I will have to change my entire swing arm and God knows what else. So I need some advise before I go Phukin things up.

Hi;

I just purchased a 2006 Warrior this weekend. I took off the seat to check out the oil-fill and the battery and found a small plastic cover that is about 3" x 4". I am goint to try an attach photos if I can figure out how to post pictures. Maybe check my gallery in a few minutes. 1 photo is where I found it laying when I took the seat off (just over the fuses) and the other two photos are of the cover both top and bottom views. I can't seem to see that it snaps to anything for a fuse box cover, so I hope someone can help. I can see the following text stamped on the cover: ">PP<"
